Whats your thoughts on the focus?

Well with the way things are going with gas I doubt i'll be holding onto my truck as long as I originally planned which was another year or 2. I wanted to trade it for a cobra or something, but I realise now that wont be very practical for my needs and wallet lol. So i'm seriously considering a focus. Gets pretty good gas mileage and are a hell of a lot of fun to drive. My friend just bought one yeasterday. Its a ses with most but not all the options. Got a good deal on it to of couse he needs it since he's got a kid and does a lot of driving. I've got one main option i'm gonna try which could improve my gas mileage which is a programmer from www.bamachips.com I personally know the guy who owns it. He is the one that has(or had) the 2 tone sonicblue and black whipple supercharged ranger. He's done amazing things for the ranger. The programmer with an 98 tq setting has dyno proven 9.7hp and 12tq at the wheels. Plus i've read from lots of readers a nice increase in fuel mileage. Some have reported 2-3 others 5-7 increase in mileage. Anyway just figured i'd get your thoughts on the focus.

if only I didn't spend about 70-80 every week-week and a half in gas this wouldn't even be here

I'd keep the truck, get the chip, and take it easy on the gas pedal...

I'd say keep the truck man...I'm running premium in my car now, and rarely get over 20 mpg, just kinda biting the bullet for now.

if you use your vehicle for work then the gas should be tax deductable.

I believe only company's who use commercial trucks can do that. I could be wrong though.

I only get 260 miles in 16.5 gallons which = about 16 miles a gallon and if I only got 150 to a tank then my truck would be in at ford right now.

Last thing I remember you saying is your mom pays the gas bill now

Thought of that and i'm looking however its gonna be almost impossible to find a job where I make as much money as I do there. I bring in anywhere from 100-150 in tips a week only working 19 hours on top of being payed 6 an hour. That's also why I work at blockbuster now to so I could cut down on the mileage on my truck a bit. however I took a fairly good hit in money when doing it, but not too bad.

never mention the words 'Probe' and 'Focus' together

the focus is NOT a bad car its 50000x better than the probe on both ease of repair and amount of time between breakdown periods.. with the 5 year warranty its a pretty fair deal on that front.. and if you get a manual trans you can see upwards of 26-35 MPG.. plus insurance will be low as hell..

for a small car its extremely well refined.. I'd take one over a civic.. but I'd probably take a mazda 3 over a focus.. if I wanted a small car that is

Nope, shes driving a friends Honda, been payin the last few tanks now. And talkin bout the company paying for gas, when I worked for the construction company, they paid gas for my truck, so they don't have to be fleet vehicles. I dunno bout pizza places though.

agreed, I just don't see the appeal of a focus, svt or not. IMO it looks pretty close to a vw beatle. Perhaps they should have called the Ford Ladybug?

Everytime I see a SVT foci, I can't help but laugh. It's kinda like the Civic Si, just plain stupid. Why take an economy car, and try to make it fast. That's one car I'm glad to see SVT get rid of.

It is thought to be coming back in 06. There are plans to offer 5 vehicles from SVT:

1.) Cobra/Shelby/whatever they decide to call it
2.) Lightning
3.) Adrenalin (sp?) :thumbsdow
4.) Fusion :thumbsdow
5.) Focus :thumbsdow

Last I read, the fusion will come out after the cobra. Then the Focus. Then the adrenalin. And last the lightning. Granted, I don't know the exact order as it may change, but, the ****us is coming soon.

The adrenalin is the explorer sport track worked over by SVT.

Info: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...icleId=105122#
Info 2: http://www.thechromepony.com/News-03-20-05a.html

The fusion is a new car ford is coming out with in 2006. It is a nothing special family sedan, that for some reason, SVT is toying around with.

Info: http://www.fordvehicles.com/futurevehicles/2006fusion/
