Stolen Mustang - Recovered IN TACT! update Post 40 pg.2

Ok,

So it's not my Mustang, but it needs to be put everywhere we can get publicity to it.

Justin's (Justang @ 3.8) 4.2 Was stolen last night. Anyone in California is asked to keep an eye out for it. Hey, we may be rival websites, but sometimes we've got to work together... especially when it's something like this.

So if you are in the So Cal area be on the look out for a 2000 Green Mustang. It's a V6 but looks like a V8. License plate number is 4HSV316. It has a KC Chiefs sticker on the back window.

here's a pic:

No offense to anyone here as alot of us drink, but I bet it was a bunch of drunk punks who were looking for a joyride.

I hope whoever finds them driving it calls Justin and he gets his *** over there and beats them to hell personally.

Would the insurance company reimburse him for all the stuff done to it if needed? Or would they just give him a stock mustang basically?

well lets put it like this. If he never told his insaurnce about the aftermarket parts on his car then he's just flat out fvcked. But when it comes down to it that car by now is more then likely stripped. I wouldnt say it would be joyriders. more then likely someone who knows his car and has been just waiting for that moment.

They wouldn't even give him a stock mustang. They'd give him blue book value on his car, probably not much more than that.

Guys we are all vulnerable to this. We freely put our car pic's and and where we live for everyone to see. Justin becomes an even more standout because he is one of the fastest N/A V6's out there. Most likely it was stolen for the motor.

I hope it is recoverable but after a couple of days it will be less likely

I also freely put that I have a complete alarm system..not that that's gonna stop someone from stealing it..maybe it'll slow them down for a minute or two though...

Yup...hence the reason to have a pager system on your alarm....

So the pager went off and then what do you do. lets say you are in the middle of a mall. Hell all that is going to happen is you are gonna know it is being stolen. You do they have devices now they kills the entire electrical system and they just tow it away. No electrical system no alarm

If they want it bad enough, they'll get it. All you can do is slow them down a little.

But what are you going to do IF you get out of the mall in time to get to your car? the guy that just smashed your window has the crowbar he just smashed it with. What are you going to do, bash him with your Macy's bag?

I hate to sound harsh about that, but that's why you tell your insurance company everything you have done, and save your reciepts.

Still feel bad for the guy though. I hope he was adequately insured.

I thought it would be harder to steal a Stang than that...doesn't the passive alarm system disable the ignition if someone gains entry to your car without the PATS key?

Just wondering...

If the crooks have the Ford programmer unit to to disable the pats and 30 mins to kill it can be done

That stinks!

Is the PATS a silent alarm or does it have a siren that goes off if someone gets in the car?

Honestly, if all they have is a crowbar, tire iron, or another swingable object, yes, I will be hitting him just not with a macy's bag. Common sense would go out the window and adrenalin would take over. Besides, if someone punk was being bull rushed by a 6' 300 lb freight train, odds are he would freak out. If not, well, then there will be a collision. He may hit me, but, this is a lot of **** to stop so even if he does, momentum is on my side.

As for the person mentioned finding his car, unless it was taken by over haulin, it is not looking good if it hasn't been found yet.

im not a 6 foot and 300 pounds but id do the same thing. i might not have momentum and might not be big enough to take down a guy who has a crowbar.. but a single kick to the nuts is good enough to take mostly anyone down. on top of that, if its a mall parking lot, im sure somone would notice a battery.

PATS(Passive Anti Theft System) doesnt, at least the one in my car, sound any alarm. You cant crank the car without the Key, which BTW is ungodly expensive, or a Ford programmer and the afore mentioned 30 min.

My alarm has a seperate battery for it in case my electrical system is drained or bypassed...which still disables the starter and fuel pump. But yeh, I see your point. I know no matter what car's can get stolen, but at least I know they'll have to try harder for my stang than the other 4 in my apartment complex.

I love my car, but I'm not going to risk my *** for it when I pay the insurance company so they can be ready to replace it. Mo powa to ya if you're willing to take that chance.

On another note, I did have a long conversation with my agent about what is insured in cases like this. He said that as long as you can prove it was all done up (via reciepts and pictures) and you are sure to tell them about big ticket items (like superchargers, etc) that they will adjust your coverages accordingly. The thing they are more worried about is you just saying you had all kinds of **** done/in your car when you really didn't. (aka fraud) You may have to carry a tad more coverage, but it shouldn't cost that much more. Best advice, go sit down with your agent and figure out where you stand.

Most alarms do have battery back up but there are emp devices they disrupt all the cars electrics. These are not legal to have but since when do Thieves care about anything being illegal.

If not thats what your concealing liscene comes in handy

So can you imagine someone trying to break into your car for a half an hour. thats plenty of time to get blood from them :yup:
