04Stang I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm only trying to point out to you that the stock times for an auto and 5-speed you posted are off. At this point I'm just going to agree to disagree.

Brent.....what can I say.....Always trying to muster up an argument and then you sit back and say "well gee....look at these guys fighting.....i obviously had nothing to do with it". For someone who continually argues about politics and the election that happened (what feels like a year ago) a few months ago, you sure are quick to criticize someone for arguing their own opinion, even if it doesn't interest you. I guess that's what I can expect from a....well let's not go there

EclipseGST, no ones bringing calculators (and if they wanted one I think RD has one on his website lol). You obviously have nothing constructive to contribute, so I'm just going to ignore those comments.

Piss off

Don't even bring the election into a thread like this to try to belittle me. I will argue politics and talk about it when I feel like it. Politics changes everyday.

i posted that b/c a comment was made about it being hard to run those times b/c of hp calculations.

but a truce has been reached, so we should let this argument die.

that 90% is the ones who think V8 are god and have stock cars cause they think that just cause its a v8 means it can beat anything and doesnt need mods. you my freind are modded and thus the 10% i like. in other words, we cool

Wow I read this entire thread and I believe I wastesd about a billion brain cells. This is the typical goof ball thread that I cannot stand. Nothing came from this. Unless I see timslips most of the talk was a waste.

It pains me to see mustang owners beating up each other. What gets me is I see V8 guys beat up V6 guys for spending money like it is a waste. Yet almost every GT owner I know spends almost the same amount to make there cars as fast a Cobras and Camaro SS's. Our cars are 90 the same except the Engine, rear end, Sway bars Gauge assembly, seats and the nice little GT emblem on the side.

I think squabbling between owners just makes us all look like jackasses.

Be Decent!!!

Geez,

V8's are better for the simple fact that there is no replacement for displacement.

The "yabbut, a blower on my 6 makes me as fast as a V8" crowd fails to realize that the same blower on the V8 will put your blown V6 in the weeds.

Mod for mod, dollar for dollar a larger displacement engine will beat a smaller displacement engine in every category except maybe fuel mileage.

V8'ers don't look down on v6'ers so much as wonder why they are fooling around with a V6 when what they really want is a V8.

It's the old "it ain't how big it is it's how you use it" argument, except it's still wrong.

Steve

You are right most kids say they want to eventually get a V8. This is cylinder envy. Some of us like me wanted a V6 I could have bought any mustang I wanted. I chose this because I have been building cars for 20 plus years and never did a V6 except a 240Z and a Inlne 6 Chevy truck engine for pulling stumps out of the ground but thay were all inline sixes. To me being a V6 was the challenge and I have not looked back. I have owned 750 HP camaros and at my age I have nothing to prove. Now if someone wants to run with me in the mountains of NC and SC around the tail of the dragon and try to keep up with my V6 and not go off the mountain or hit the guard rails please by all means come and see. http://www.tailofthedragon.com/

I raced and old Chevelle on sunday..it was bone stock and kinda just a show/cruiser car...he ran something like 15.7

he came up to me afterwards and asked what I had, said he was watching me all day and noticed I was realyl consistant with my times...I told him it was a V6 and he just made the best face..

He shook my hand and said congratulations, thats a nice car you have.

I actually get more support on my car then I do insults. My friends bash me but thats just them being friends. When people ask them about my car they stand up for it.

Kinda cool feeling to see people give you credit for a v6.

The muscle car era cars are slow compared to todays standards, in all honesty, Id hope you could be a 30+ year old car. Times change and so did the technology used in cars. My friends 00 v6 5spd stock has beaten older chevelles, besides they are heavier then ****.

I agree just about 100% with ponycarman, I felt the same way so thats why I held off until I could get/afford a v8. Its a 88 5.0 nothing fancy and needs work but I dont mind

theres absolutely no differance in hp and torque when it comes to the 3.8 and 3.9 the differances in motors are extremely extremely light if you look at the specs the 2004 3.9 is rated at 190hp and the 220ftlbs of torque just like the 3.8

what RGR is saying is that Ford didn't bother to change the HP and TQ specs when they used the spare windstar parts and there may well be a small small gain of tq and hp through the displacement.

It is possible but like has been said it is very very small and would not be noticable

why i like the GT...

fast without mods, sound, reliability because of lack of mods

why i like the v6...

more impressive if you can hit 400hp(a v6 fully modded > modded gt), price, insurance...

its a tough one.. i want the GT now but i will definitely have a v6 project car in the future..

I think what most V8 owners dislike are unrealistic expectations from
the "cylinder challenged" crowd, especially the ricers. When they see
the V6's running well and the owners acting respectable they generally
treat us well.

:wstupid:

As for that car down in LA anyone know the altitude levels down there whether its below sea level or not. I know for fact being altitudes play a huge factor and im thinking thats the one factor thats not be established.

BTW I never got picked on owning a V6 well thats a lie had a mullet ***** talk **** he ended up punking out cause guess someone told him about my mods that were about to own his ***. and all it was for was for gas money
