Buy This GT??

I have been looking into getting a 99+ GT instead of doing anything to my car. I found this one in the newspaper classifieds that didn't seem to bad. It is a 1999 black GT with leather, 77K, 5spd(of course i won't get a auto) and it says fully loaded...they are asking $7500 and it is a private seller so maybe could talk them down a little bit. Do you guys think it is a good deal to look into or not?

I really want to but I'm still 17 so I can't get a loan but I'm trying to talk my parents into helping me out with that but they don't understand why I want a car only one year newer...although it is the whole style change and has the 4.6(what I really want)

Well if they are willing to help a co-signer is all thats needed. But just remember your still a youngin plenty of time left to own a V8. I wouldnt dwell to much on it if you cant get it., ya know.

Yeh I keep my grades up but I think I'm ready to move a step up....might seem like I;m in a hurry but I just know that I would like it a lot better that way I will put money into a car that has more potential IMO...but you can get a loan if your under 18 as long as you have a co signer??

yep thats how I bought my 6-er when I was 17 the pa-dukes co-signed me for a loan and I got it just like that. :yup:

Once your over 18 you dont need a co-signer unless your credit sucks.

look at it for sure.. fully loaded means he might of been racing and/or driving it really hard. consider these things while purchasing a car...

dude for 7500 bucks? jesus 99 GT's go for double that in cali, even he beat up ones.

though if its modded dont touch it, if you get a gt you want one that didnt get raced, try to find one driven by a old guy or something. even if you have to pay a few grand more for one that isnt driven hard, its worth it than having to fix someone elses mistakes. and starting off with an unmolested motor is just a better platform.

I'm going to def try to look into it...I just got to talk my parents into it. Hopefully it could work out but since it is a private seller I will have to sell my car also....not sure how it would work

well I won't be able to get it...I called about it and it had some mods so I don't think I would want it anyway. By the end of the summer I will definitly have a 99+ GT though because that is what all my graduation money is going to go to. I would like to try to get either a 99-01 Cobra or a 01+ GT.

Ahem...have fun with insurance. Cobra = raped by insurance company. GT = they want your left arm.

I have both my stangs under my parents names, So my white v6 is my moms primary, my GT is my dad's 6 month secondary car, and Im under the explorer, I pay 2,500 for the v6 and 1,000 a year for the GT. When the v6 was under my name and not my mom's I was paying 3,700.
