The 4.6 however is a higher-revving engine and dosn't make as much torque as low as the 302, so people gear them with 4.30s since they can rev to 7500+ and make up for the tq they don't have.
I dissagree, 4.10's are an excelent chioce for the heavier models, 4.30's would probably be a little two high, but i've seen one or two 302's hit 8K... so its all about what your doing, alot of guys hit 7k N/A just depends, I shift at either 6K or 6.5K myself, and im only lightly modded as in still running alphabet cam and iron heads.. nothing special. (im running 3.73's with a 5 speed btw)

I guess for the street lower gears would be better, but you can always run around on drag radials if your worried about hook

You'd be surprised. It would be 500 dollars cheaper a year to get full coverage on a 01 gt rather than my 02 v6... go figure.

Wow that red one does really look better than the white. And you really don't have to worry about the motor having problems or anything for awhile. I'd have gone for that car if I was in Kansas man

Btw, what insurance company do you have. I'm paying 900 a year on my v6.

who ever said stock? who is going to keep ther car bone stock if they're interested in puttng gears in it?

the FACT is that with a set of cams in a 4v you can rev really high. The forged crank can take the rpm's and with a nice set of cams in 4v heads you make more power the higher you go.

7500 might seem high to pushrod motors because they aren't really designed to rev that high. A OHC motor with a forged crank and good flowing heads with good cams will rev and make pwoer the entire time.

7500 might seem like a lot to a pushrod motor if you don't know about pushrod motors.

Put the same mods in a pushrod motor that you spec for your OHC motor and it'll spin 7500 too.
