The A4LD is quite possibly the worst transmission I have ever encountered.
It does a good point, the ability to select any gear. I could pop mine in 1 and hold it there as long as I wanted. It would shift pretty hard between gears as well.
It was just crap for longevity. With my experience with them they would last <100K miles.
I converted both my Stangs to T-5's because I wanted something that would not strand me somewhere and rob my engine of its power.
