notch's typically run 13.99's with nothing more than gears and a short belt.

I find it hard to believe they will run 13.9's with gears and a short belt...considering 5spd is around high 14's low 15's. iv never seen gears knock off almost 2seconds (depending on tranny an such)

ive seen a 86 gt (yes a hatchback with crappy heads and all that fun stuff) run consistent 13.9's.

no air silencer, timing at 14*, and removed the serpentine belt (its fine if u go 1/4 mile at a time )

psst.. 13.99 = 1 second lower than 14.99 not 2 seconds

I've a friend with an '04 GT 5 speed.. had full header-back exhaust ( IE x pipe and catback) intake and diablosport chip.. and drag radials

ran 13.68@99 MPH.. with a 1.7 60' (figuring stock tires he'd be 13.90s..)
put in 4.30s and ran 13.19@103 MPH

reaching low 13s from high 13s is harder than high 13s from high 14s.. so I believe gears can do a lot..
