Isn't that just a GT? How does a WS6 compare to a Cobra?

hahaha

sad part is..

that cobra would prolly lose to at least a handful of those TAs.. even if he has boltons/maros

however in direct comparisons in magazines..
they almost always favored the mustang for 'daily' factors lol.. they could live with 'em on a daily basis..

so its okay I know my car is slow, I won't brag about it

That's what I was thinking about the TA's.

Almost every car magazine I've read about the STI V. EVO comparison says something similar; Evo is faster but STI is more fun and a better "kick in the pants". This may be the same type of scenario. Anyone here ever driven and tested WS6 and compared it to Cobra?

That may be true, assuming the cobra hasn't put in anything other than exhaust, cai, tune, and pulley. But, if he has put a whipple or KB in there...he may beat more than one would think.

Either way, I would not mind being in the position to try and beat them...and if I do loose, good for them, and off to the parts store I go.

Did anyone actually take that pic to kinko's? I am curious as to how it comes out in poster size. It would be a great poster for the garage.

Why not both

If I were to choose 1, I think it would be the first one because there is no writing on it. But, at the same time, I think the second one has a better angle.

the cobra has a severe handicap with teh IRS rear end... slap a live axle on it and watch the ET's drop hard core... with some slicks you would be amazed what a live axle can do for the car

I would love to see that cobra take them all on, I do beleive the LS1's would take it though but it would be awesome to watch. about the STI vs EVO the evo has been proven a better car over and over again. heres a pic similer to that pic that some, mostly EclipseGSTdue will injoy.

Out of curiousity, I was wondering what people were assuming when they state that the LS1's would take that cobra? There have been a few statements that the 03/04 cobra would lose to the LS1...are any of those making that comment assuming that the cobra is stock and the LS1's are modified in some manner? The reason I ask is that I have a hard time believing that an LS1 would take the cobra with them both in stock form. I have an even harder time believing that the cobra is in truly stock form which means the odds of losing are probably even smaller.

Overall though, are those saying it would lose thinking the cobra is stock and all, or some, of the LS1's are modified or sprayed or something? Maybe it is denial since I own an 03, but having ridden in an LS1 and driven an LS1, I can't picture it beating my car.

Anyhow, just curious. Any thoughts?

I made the comment bc out of all the LS1's there, there has to be a few that are heavily modded, I'm sure the cobra is too. just saying with like 20/1.

This thread has sparked a thought in my mind...maybe I am just too bored at work, but, I have started a poll about 03/04 Cobra vs LS1. Please go here and cast your vote Stock 03/04 Cobra vs Stock LS1

well the stock 03/04 cobras seem to run mid 13s stock~ which is HORRID for their power.... its due to the traction im sure..... and a stock ls1 can definatly do those times so I see how people come up with that... stick a live axle in the cobra or get it to hook up equal to what the ls1 can do and there is no competetion, 320rwhp and tq from the ls1 vs 360-370rwthp and tq from the cobra and doesnt the cobra weight a little less?

Lol. You do know that there are people that can put down mid 12s with the IRS right? You also do know that there are modded cobras in the 11s with IRS right? The IRS sucks for people like me who can't drive, but, my car stock has been down the 1/4 in 12.8...with IRS and stock tires...by someone that knows how to drive.

A solid axel may help sucky drivers get normal times...and it will help good drivers get better times...but it is not the end all for the situation. Whether solid or IRS, you still need to know how to feather things so that you don't break lose...that is the key. Everything is decided in the first 60'.

ive just seen TONS of cobras running mid 13s... which blows, most of it is bad drivers, the IRS for uses is a very poor design IRS. Just imagine how much better you could run being able to hook off the line witha 1.4 - 1.6 60ft s

I know, but I just have to give you a hard time about it. Everytime times come up, you mention the IRS...so someone has to harras you about it.

Forget the 1.4-1.6 times, I would be happy with a 2.0 time instead of a 2.8. Yeah, I suck at launching.

Holy sh*t dude!!!! I don't mean to make you feel badly but 2.8? :hammer:  My car's torque is pathetic (rated 181 stock) and I have IRS and I can still pull a 2.2 or less! You are either launching way too hard (spinning) or launching from 3rd gear instead of first!

:yup: :yup:

Launch in 1st....spin through first....go in second...spin some more...then grip. Like I said...I suck. If I went to the track consistently, it would be good...but, I suck...and am not afraid to admit it.

What RPM do you launch at? Do you drop the clutch? Instead of trying to get the best time try to do the perfect launch, because if you're trying to get the best time you'll probably launch too hard. Also, when you shift to second, don't slam the accelerator down, instead try stabbing it down 70 percent or so, then squeezing it down to the floor quickly but smoothly. Not that I am a pro or anything but I know if you got your times down you'd have a good day knowing you just got the best mod available, and it was free at that!

I launch about 1500...roll over the beam and then the foot takes over and loose go the wheels. Brain loses all control. Granted, that 2.8 was on stock tires, so there is room for improvement now that I have nittos. Granted, I also have about 100 more hp than I did when I went on streets.

I will get to the track again I am sure to see what I can do...and may concentrate on launch instead of speed.
