should i feel bad for this

i was driving to work this morning at around 6am and had just passed a red light into a 45 zone. well i was on side of the girl driving a 3000gt and we were both side by side doing approx. 50mph. at this speed, she merges into the turn lane and tries to make a left turn into a gas station at about 45mph. as she is turning, she hops the curb, slides about 20ft, and smacks a palm tree in the grass. when she hit the tree, she was going approx. 30mph. i was on side of her as she turned and watched her hop the curb and hit the tree through my rearview mirror. there were about 4 people pumping gas that saw this and a few others in the gas station parking lot when this incident occurred.

should i feel bad for not making a u-turn to help her or not?

If u are still thinking about it, you probably do feel bad. I have witnessed accidents before and have stopped to help. What if the other four people pumping gas thought the same way u did and decided someone else would help her.
You are going to hell

had i stopped to help though, anything i were to do even to help her, i would have been responsible for her until cops arrived.

examples:
say she needed CPR, if i were to do that to help her, i would have to do that until a certified professional arrived. now if something happened for the worst, i would be held responsible, even though i was just trying to help. then i would be thrown in jail for trying to save a life.

or say i was helping her out of her car, if her back was hurt and by helping her, her back was hurt more by me pulling her out, then i would be held responsible.

others motorists passed by as well so i was not the only one and it was totally unnecessary to make a turn like that at that rate of speed, to me, thats just foolish.

you're wrong about being held responsible. There are "Good Samaritan" laws to protect you if you try to help.

I say no, you shouldn't feel bad, because there were other people around. But I'd have gone to help.

i understand the "good samaritan" laws and when i was telling a guy at work this situation, he was telling me about being held responsible for that.

honestly, i really couldnt believe what i was seeing which is probably why i didnt stop. i couldnt believe that someone would try to execute such a sharp turn at such a high rate of speed. the severity of the situation didnt really set in fully until a few minutes after. after a couple minutes i was like " that girl hit a ****in tree, damn."

as long as you're trying to better the situation.... you are not liable. I think the more important question here is "was she hot?"

i asked my dad if he saw the accident and he said yeah and asked me what happened. i told him and he told me she works at that gas station. he said when he passed by, she didnt look hurt and was standing in front of her car.

now i definately dont feel bad. and i am glad nothing bad happened, even though i dont know her and what she did wasnt very smart.

I don't hard to say. I guess becasue she thought it was La Mans and take the corner fast, i wouldn't. It would have been her own fault. imo

Yup, it doesnt matter if your just trying to help, as sick as it seems ppl can sue you for performing it wrong....guess it stops people from making a situation worse if they dont know CPR though

Re: should i feel bad for this

I say no I dislike to work an accident scene with to many by standers or rubber neckers around. Haveing been at a gas station response should have been fairly fast from fire/ems/poilce heck most police officers hang out at gas stations.
