Help me pick my next mod!!!!

Ok, the past 3 days I've been slaving over 3 barbaque's cooking 6 200 pound pigs and I''ll say this.

IM TIRED!!

But the payout is amazing and I'm looking at getting close to 900 bucks for my slavery. I'm already getting my headers professionally re-installed and having some exhaust tubing mandrel bent(straight pipes). I haven't gotten any estimates yet but I'm betting that whole process will cost me in the range of 4-400 bucks. That leaves me with say 500 to spend.

My options I'm looking at.....

1. Save it, get tires for my rims. $750
2. Aluminum driveshaft baby $200
3. Lowering springs(prob Eibach Pros) $225
4. Wings West or Xenon front airdam kit. (Not body just the front lip) $250
5. Strut Tower brace with some engine dressup $225
6. New carpet. I want to get black since it will look nicer and my tan one is stained. $100

So help me out, I'm stuck and have money to spend on my car for the first time in like 3 months!!!!

i would vote nitrous, but since thats not an option and you have 900 bucks, i suggest the ones i left in your original quote-----800 bucks and you still have 100 bucks to go to the local corner and rent a hooker for a little while

i picked these b/c these are the most you can get for your money....but if you absolutely need new tires, then get those

why does everyone love eibach springs, they do have great ones but the ones most buy have ****ty rates... thus they dont handle very good (some do some dont most people buy dont) H&Rs do have the rate with the drop just an fyi

with $900, I would get nitrous too. However, with what you suggested, i would NOT get:
-Alum. driveshaft
-Eibachs.

With the driveshaft, you are not modded enough to notice anything but slightly quicker revs. You may see 1-2rwhp, but that's it. Until you are loaded with new torque converter, shift kit, rear end gears, etc, then you might be worthy of an alum driveshaft. Totally not worth it. (believe me, I had one, and I had the full drivetrain upgrades too)

Eibachs are sucky. They are too soft. You can get better handling for cheaper with a set of FMS 'C' springs -- they are about $115 or so. (I see you are in dallas, and I can install them for you in less than an hour and for very cheap).

As for the front air dam, don't forget the cost of paint and fitting and stuff. That will easily cost you $250 or so. Figure that into the cost of the bumper.

For the strut tower brace, there are several junk yards here, just goto one and pick one up from a salvage yard --- $20 and same function as the $225

I can teach you the ways to get a clean, quick v6 for dirt cheap if you want. Ive been to the Dallas junk yards and I know what to get off of them and how to talk down price.

I don't want Nitrous, it just doesn't attract me at all, I'd rather have boost there all the time plus having to fill bottles and such....

monkey, I have a j-modded tranny with 3.73's in my rear, I plan on getting a Torque Converter eventually, if I got the shaft now it would be slightly out of order but you think I would see anything then? Oh, and I live in Dallas Pennsylvania not Texas

Ok, so f the eibach's, H&R or Ford C Springs are the way to go. I'm just worried that the C's wont lower my car as much as I want.

I am decently modded, I just don't know what my next step should be. I'm leaning towards saving the money and investing a a Suspension Package froim either Kenny Brown or MM.

id lower the car. i have heard good things about the tokico blues and spring combo. im getting tein h-techs and tokico illuminas hopefully theyll be here next week. i was going to get eibachs but even calling eibach they had no idea what application to use for a GST spyder, so i used what another guy in my club has, the teins.

then with the leftover you can get maybe the front airdam or a ebay strut tower brace.

F THAT!!!

But I just got a little inspired then went and did a photoshop lowering my car and putting my rims on, omfg hot ****. Older pic though, no headlights and the white rice is still there.

So I think I'm going to go with H&R since I've been reading other posts and noone seems to really like the ride in eibachs. Someone said they were scraping on speedbumps... :pnoid:

I cant wait to get paid, I'm still not sure how much since it was for my dad and he takes care of bills....

Edit: I just thought, What would a ported upper and lower from RPM get me in gains? Average of course.

get the torque converter now instead of the driveshaft. If i did it all over again, i would not have gotten the alum. ds. not worth it at all.

H&Rs are great, but you will need new dampers to match the stiffness of H&Rs. I suggest, the Mach 1 or Bullit suspension kit (comes with springs, dampers, sways for pretty cheap and it's a pretty darn good setup)

10-15hp, max That is about 0.1sec in the 1/4.

Get the torque converter and tranny cooler. that is a guarenteed 0.5 off your 1/4. Remember the feeling when you got gears? Now imagine adding on to that feeling. that's what the TC is like.

yeah but how much is it gonna cost to install the TC and cooler? sure the TC and cooler might cost around 4-500 and fits his budget, but unless he has a weekend to do it himself, hes gonna almost double that taking it to a shop.

Bad news, I got my exhaust problem looked at and it turns out not only are my headers warped, my heads are also cracked. Right now I'm hating my car but I see this as an oppurtunity for some fun. So, this poll is basically closed.

I am using my money for some heads and a cam from RPM or SSX. Most likely RPM. I have to work out the bugs and crunch some numbers but I think I may be able to afford a 3 yr/3000 dollar loan that I just got pre-approved for 20 minutes ago. I'm gonna get a full stage 3 package with the Max Effort heads else just heads/cams/gasket kits/rockers.

This is going to be expensive but I know I can afford it and if I put 900 dollars into it from these roasts and then get a loan for whatever else I need + labor I can afford it...

I only paid 200 to get mine installed (including fluids). Remember, rwd, not awd. Trannies are easy to drop in those.
