so you'd swap a chevy engine in your car versus a cobra engine or something like that?

someone that's addicted to Chevy, but realizes the potential of the Fox Body, but can't admit he likes a Ford?... and wishes Chevy had made it first?

While we had a debate about why not to do an LS1 swap recently, I won't get into that. I will just say it is blastfemy...and it is just salt in the wound to put the bowtie on the front...it defeats the purpose of the swap because we all know that only little boys wear bowties...and that car's setup is not a little boy.

Hell no, if I were to swap an engine, I would stay Ford. If for nothing other than the simplicity. I cannot ever see myself with a Chevy or any GM powerplant in a Ford. But I could see why they might. I would never ever ever ever ever have a GM badge on a Ford... :digsust:

today i was talking to some friends about all the cars i would love to stuff a 5.0 into. i dig weird engine swaps and was saying how fun it would be to piss all the hardcore 240 guys off by putting a 5.0 into one instead of doing an rb20 swap like most people. so from standing on the other side of the fence, i can dig it, but the bowtie is too much. and a carbed ls1 - now thats news to me.

ok, do an engine swap, I don't care. Throw a different badge on the car? Now I have to really go ape ****. I'd tell the owner "So...... you're a dumbass."

id say if you got the car with a blowed up 5.0, and had the LS1 in the garage with hookups on the turbo and mods, then its all good.

if you took the fox, stuffed the LS1 in it to piss people off, then youre a asshat.

almost as bad as the LS1 swaps into the RX7, its like taking a perfectly capible motor out for another one just to be able to say "chevy owns".

someone needs to get a LS1 Fbody and swap a cobra 4.6 in there, and slap the ford badge on it.

It's not every day you see a carbureted LS1.

I've got $5 on it that was built by a hard-core chevy guy. The bowtie is on there just to piss you guys off, and it looks like it's worked very nicely. Here's to you Mr. Put-a-Chevy-motor-in-a-Ford-car-complete-with-Chevy-badging-just-to-piss-off-the-Ford-guys man.

Someone take that Pony out back and shoot her. Very, very sick.

Its bad enough that these old f'ers put small block crap in a Hot Rod, don't start F'n with the Mustang now. Can't GM put together a car for these morons.

sad thing is, that LS1 probably kicks the *** of most 5.0 bolt-on cars

I'd hope so...seeing as it's a turbocharged/carbureted LS1 with a custom ground cam.

even a stock LS1 in a fox body, there would be enough power to outrun most bolt-on 5.0 cars, ive seen very high 12's around here with bolt-ons and things like gears, weight reduction etc, you see low 13's out of a stock LS1 6-speed around here, put that engine/tranny in a lighter car, shorter wheel base, and BAM, faster car
