I guess the notchback looks to much like a fairmont out back. I like the hatch for looks and extra storage considering the notch has the trunk space of a shoebox!!!

But I am not a hater. Any mustang is better than most any other cars with the exception of the Mustang II ghia which were the epitomy of mustang sux!!!!

me to

but the notches dont appeal to me as much as hatches, I like being able to put a few things back there when I have to/need to. plus being able to fold the rear seats down helps alot also. I need all the weight over my rear wheels, mainly when I have crappy 215/70/15s on the back and 205/65/15s on the front..but Had them all in the shed so they were free Until I put some like 255/50/15s on it woo

I guarantee a properly built auto will smack down any 5 speed driver on this list, I don't have a 5 speed otherwise that wouldn't be true, lol.

That being said I prefer a stick.

autos are better (when going in a straight line and you have spent a TON of money on it...)

i loaded the trunk in the 90 up when i sold it, it had an h-pipe, shorty headers, 2 tires/rims, a/c compressor, powersterring pump, an oil pan, an oil pick up tube, and a ton of other ****, you just gotta know how to use the space

of course a built auto can smack around a 5 speed, but 5 speeds are so much more fun to drive.

looks almost like my first car. 74 mustang II, harvest gold(which had faded to schoolbus yellow) with the super slow 2.3 I4 3spd auto.

I'll dispute the ton of money statement, unless you can't do it yourself. Like anything you gotta pay someone else to do it costs more than if you do it yourself. Not sure what all has to be done to the 4R70W trans but the pre-electronic MoPar ones are nothing more than a shift kit and a governor swap away from glory, less than $100.

I agree with the straightline comment though.

How do you figure it is more money?

I built auto with a 3k stall convertor, 500-600hp durability, and install can be had for around 1700 dollars.

Last time I checked they are about the same price as a similar built manual.
