Im a thief

my buddy and i hit the junkyards today, and made some pretty killer finds, at least for our era of cars

this is the stuff i got:

2 tripminder computers
pair of cougar turbine centercaps
80mm MAF
various wiring
small odds and ends

best of all...i smuggled it all out of the junkyard

considering that they check your tool box's, i cant do that

imagine trying to smuggle that stuff, no toolbox, and trying not to let it be seen

centercaps were in my waist, covered by my hoodie

tripminders were carried out, under my hoodie

/begin lame story I was with my buddy Doug one time, and his tire and his spare tire both blew out on his Eagle Talon TSi so we went to the junkyard. They wanted alot of money for 1 tire with a rim so being lucky that day there was a Talon already jacked up and it had good tires and rims on it. So after he got the tire with the rim he was rolling it to the exit and I didn't see anyone at the exit so I pushed my remote trunk opener and said "Hurry wheel it out to my car, if he sees you I'll just tell him I got the tire and rim and I'll pay for it" So he wheels it out and I'm making sure nobody sees him....got a free rim and tire. /end lame story

the real steals are what you pay for once you're in good with the owner. 2-2.3T engines with tranies (good 5sds), 1 more without but with intercooler, another intercooler and two turbos from rice cars, a 95 gt rear, and the front brakes from the same with the master cyl and booster. grand total? 600 bucks! all because i asked to be called on any stang that came in and was a regular. go to mps and price this stuff. it also helped that they were chevy guys and not into the 2.3 at all

the guys at the yards are dicks, they wouldnt make a 911 call if their own co-worker was crushed, so i doubt theyd call me to tell me about some cars...

i stopped there on the way to mustangunlimited once and they wanted $2000 for a 5.0, t5, and computer with over 100k miles on the clock. I ended up making $1600 for a 5.0, t5, and computer with 10k on the engine rebuild, lol.
