I don't know man, it totally depends on the jump. I have a video where I jumped my 1983 cavalier and I jumped it at a good 70-80 m.p.h. (top speed in that car ) but I landed perfectly fine every time.

It does look a little PSed but it also has that title in the upper left corner. I know that could be PSed too but just to mention it.

well I have seen the actual footage of them driving the bullitt around that town and what not, was on tv, i think car and driver. I never seen that jump and you figure you would show that live... I did see it do some jumps however just over the top of hills but nothing major, just a couple inches or so.

i had my turbo coupe airborn a few times, and it seems that as soon as the rear tires lip off, the nose drops, its been airborn in a few different area's, each jump/hill was a bit different, but it nosed down each time

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that that pic is an ad for the bullitt mustang??

If it's chopped, it's professionally chopped. But if you look in the wheel wells it looks like they dropped the tires down and filled black to look like the suspension is unloaded completely. And very faintly around the front right(our right) and rear right tires there is an outline.

I say chopped but chopped VERY well. Like by someone Ford hired?!

generally......

though one night i was doing 110 down a big wide street in the thunderbird, and came up to a nicely sized railroad track. i didnt slow down one bit.

i scraped the front fascia on the upside and went airborne for a good 2-3 seconds, was perfectly flat the whole time, landed all 4 tires at the same time.

the only bad part, was when i hit the upside, it killed the front neon tube that was nestled in the fascia, and when i hit the car flat bottomed and crushed the neons on each side(they were mounted to the framerails).

Doesn't look like the LCA's are at full droop to me, which was one thing I noticed.

I used to jump my 86 Daytona and my 72 Dart. They'd fly level but it did depend on the speed at which you got airborne. Used to be a set of raised bed RR tracks on the way to my brother's house that if I hit them at 45mph I'd catch serious air and land level. One night I was coming back with 4 people in the car and got air, but I figured witht eh extra load I'd need more mph. So I hit the tracks at 65 and it was a nice level ride. The girls in the car flipped but the guys thought it was cool.

Next day I am headed to my brother's and hit the tracks at 65, alone.

Landed nose first, cracked the opil pan and bent the front crossmember.

Of course that sisn;t stop me from jumping, just taught me to approac the jump incrementally.

Steve

I only have ever jumped mine twice, I stopped because I realized I love my car too much to risk breaking it.
