Interesting turn of events...

So, I have been getting closer and closer to putting in my 2 week notice so I can move on to a new job when things go a bit askew. This past friday I get a written warning (They call it a PIP, Personal Improvement Plan) that basically is giving me 60 days to start complying with the new rule of being to work by 9:30 am. Well, that's cool even though I have been showing up around 10ish. Well, each day this week I got in to work about 9:45 as I needed a little extra time to put the top up each day (except monday). Anyhow, even though I was given 60 days to comply, they bring me into the manager's office and basically fire me because I didn't comply from day 1 and that he doesn't see things changing at all. How bout them apples?

Down side, I don't get to pop the out of the blue 2 week notice and see their bug eyed reaction.

Up side, I get to start my new job 2 weeks earlier now. . Also, they are stuck with no one to do the build process. No one to do automation. And no one to train anyone on either of them. Good for me, bad for them.

Anyhow, it was an interesting turn of events. And it looks like now I get a cool 5 days off, maybe a couple more depending on if I can start the new job on tuesday or not.

Ok, I spewed my news. Carry on.

I am a multi hat wearing software person. I do software/web development, software test automation (making software to replace human testers), software configuration management (software release management), database administration, and dable in some network administration. At this job I was doing the SCM and automation part. At the next one, I will be doing SCM and automation as well as some development.

He shaves goats on a farm for a living "automation" and the "build process" is something to do with chickens.

It is the same money as the old one. I just had to get out of the old one. Couldn't take the managers and coworkers anymore. It does mean shorts and tee shirts are the dress code now instead of khaki's and collared shirts. Killer bonus there. Plus it gives me to the chance to get my clearance again as I will be doing some gov't work. THe only part that sucks was I couldn't give the out of the blue notice.

Sweet. Thanks. Once I get the new pics of the new pulleys on the engine and such...feel free to work with it again.

I have a sig now!
