Dunno in HTML you save files as .html instead of .txt. Same concept I guess?
Not really. HTML files are txt files, only with a different extension. A bmp file is drastically different than a jpg file. You can still open it and such but even though it says jpg it will be a bmp. It is just like renaming a movie file from wmv to mpg. The computer will open it, but will bark about it saying the file doesn't match the extension.
In his situation, it probably gives no other option other than bmp, at least that is what it does to me. No all files or anything. It has lost its mind with memory and resource leaks and doesn't know which end is up anymore. It is nothing a quick reboot doesn't fix.
