so when I get my new rims/tires...

I'm thinking I should put the new fronts on, and roast out the old tires ... taking pictures of course, for the sig.... I'll have 2 sets of burn outs because I have fronts and rears I can burn... the tires are no good anyway, so when I sell rims, it'll just be rims. Is this a good idea, or will I blow up the car, lol... just leave some ideas

I can't tape it
maybe I can find someone with a digital camera that can record.... or maybe I should just wait until I get my digital camera that can record, that'll be about as good as I can do

I found a friend with a cam , for digital recording, ... and should get some good sounds of the exhaust ... I hope I win the auction I'm bidding on this suckers.... so I can get this done... he was pretty excited about this burn out thing too... now I have a question. What's the best way to do these burn outs?... I have an auto, so do I leave it in OD off, or 1st?.... just let it shift up the gears? What do I do?... obviously leave foot on the brake.

sorry, I just found him.... so why would I edit the post?.... also, can you answer my question?... plus, I usually operate at levels some would considering "hyperactive"... which is amazing considering I'm like 279 pounds now... just found that out at work last week, lol

what question do you want answered? I voted...

edit, ok just read your other post.

Brake a little and floor it. It's not great for the brakes or tranny, but it'll make a nice burnout. Just don't rev in N and drop to D.

I NEVER do that.... do I just leave it down, and let it shift all the way through? Or do I try to keep the wheels going at a certain speed?

It won't shift if you aren't getting any traction, but you don't need to floor it with the brakes on, just give it gas till they start spinning, and hold it there. You don;t really want to bounce it off the rev limiter too much.

trust me.. it does shift. In my high school truck, I would do burn outs on our lawn a lot.. because it's fun, and not hard on tires... and I was running about 85 miles an hour... which is impossible in first. I also have shifted on ice in my car doing about 65 or 70.... and again in Iowa City going up a HUGE hill in the rain... I was doing maybe 30 and floored it, the car shifted to first, and there go the tires... soon enough, we were in 2nd.

in my experience, while doing a burnout in an auto, it will not shift when you have the brakes applied, now, if you are doing a burnout just strait up, then yes it will shift, but with the brakes are applied, in my experiences, it will not shift.

The only problem is...it's gonna wear down your rears bad time. I did this with my old tires, and ended up replacing my rear pads and getting the rear rotors turned while I was at it, not very cheap...

Or before you do it take the calipers off your rear brakes. Of course that would mean you'd have to take them off somewhere, or do it close to your own house.

When I burnout I just brakestand, but I don't floor it. Keep it at like 3.5g's and you'll spin and create a lot of smoke.

While your at it rig up a windshield washer fluid tank/pump up to some nozzles pointing at your tires. That way when you hit a button, the tank is filled with bleach and it sprays bleach on your tires.

LOtsa smoke!
