bittersweet day

well, i washed the car and got it ready for the show today. i went over there and competed in the show and sound competitions. i say its bittersweet b/c of a few things:

good- hit a 133.9 on the decible meter with my setup (2 10's w/ a 550 amp). won second place in my class (mild domestic). there are some cute girls in our car club. there were also some hot ones over there. we also got first place for club participation.

bad- no models due to rain, got wet due to rain, and i won a medal for 2nd place instead of a throphy.

all in all i'd say it was an alright day.

I tried to make it to a show here in town today, was gonna see what my new setup hits, guessing around 140, but ended up doing other stuff.

i think i could have gotten a 140 if i bridged the amp and put in a bass cd.

the 133.9 was on a regular rap cd, unbridged, and i later realized that the "loud" feature on the unit was off when i turned it up, but when "loud" is enabled at those volumes, it just brings out more highs and a little more bass

but i still think with those things i could've gotten a 140, but i'll know that for next time i guess.

Yeh, I have an eclipse with 8 volt preamps, a 760 watt 2 channel amp, not bridged, running at 2 ohm stereo pushing 2 dvc 12's, I should be getting over 140 with a bigger amp, but I'm too cheap. If I can hit 140 I'd be happy. I was wanting to go so I could see what some of my friends did like...6 12's in an explorer, 8 15's in a blazer, etc, crazy stuff.

O, and for sound competition, I like using the bass mechanix cd's, they have a good performance track on their cd's that I use unless at a USAC comp where you have to use their cd.

my friend has a prelude with 2 15's and hit a 163.3. he had like 2,000 or so watts pushing those subs. that thing hit hard.

well i am in the conservative class, so you dont have to have much, but here is the list:

exterior: red underbody kit

interior: tv/dvd player, ps2, white faced gauges, chrome shift knob, stereo.........i think thats it

performance: cold air intake (yes, they do count this in show). also have udp and modified single exhaust

there are some pics of this in my garage

my $.02 for the day...

do not let your hand get in front of a power washer stream when you're using it.. it'll peel layers off as if you were running a razor blade across it

yes it hurts..

don't try it

Some USAC comps require you to use their cd's, but most of the home-run comps let you use your own cd's.
