Bored and just pissed off some cavalier owner who works in the building next door.

His car was behind the loading dock and it looked like he was cleaning it out and all that fun stuff. Then he turned it on and was revving it a few times. (good big 'ol muffler otherwise stock with a auto) And he seen me looking at it weirdly.

him: "what?"
me: "that sounds bad"
him: "thanks I had it done not to long ago"
me: "no...I mean bad, as in not good"
him: "well what do you drive then that sounds so good?"
me: just a ranger with dual exhaust and a 88 mustang"
him: "mustang with the 5.0 right?"
me: "yep..."
him: "I beat those things all the time get outta here"
me: "really..whats done to it?"
him: "exhaust"
me: "your an idiot to think your fwd 4banger automatic cavalier can take one, my ranger would be a close race and its a 3.0 v6 with 31" tall tires"

then he got this pissed off look on his face got in his car and went and parked it then walked inside.

The Mustang has become the benchmark for a ricer, or any other kid with a chip on their shoulder.

It is not uncommon for some kid, in a car with big wing, and "fart cannons" to pull up next to me and rev.

Case in point. Wife and I are out to dinner. It's a Friday night. The wife is driving because I am drinking. We pull pull upi to a stop light. Someone in a Honda Civic, with big wing, decals, etc pulls up next to us. He revs a couple times and the Wife asks what the heck?

I told her that he wants to race you. So whan the light goes green, the person in the civic launches and takes off, and we just move off normally.

TOOO bad that there was a police cruiser across the way that saw the whole thing. The civic was PWNED.

yeh I like when they get pwned like that, was in a friends 00 v6, some del slow pulled up next to him at a light and revving what seemed like hours because of the ear bleeding sound, my friend gets the car to jump forward a little bit, when the arrow turned green for the far left lane the del slow went through the light thinking ours turned green and there were 2 cop cars sittin in the next parking lot...own.t him good.

i wouldve been more straight forward with him.

"dude your car sounds like ***, please take it back to the beehive".

or just stare at him, then give him the thumbs down like he does in gladiator, start off with the thumb even, then slowly move it down whilst shaking your head. i piss off so many ricers with that move.

part of the fun of my friday nights involve taking the stang to an ice cream place on hwy 100 (big racing spot here for ricers) just sit in the parking light watching the peices of **** thnk they are cool racing at the light....really is a good laugh. Sometimes nice cobras and stuff come through, so i guess thats cool, and last weekend there was a car show around so a bunch of old chargers and what not were strutting their stuff

what i find funny is that some ricers still think mustangs have 150hp. i pulled on side a prelude a couple months ago and the dude had his g/f in the car. well he pulls to my right at the light and we both have our windows down and he asks me if that thing has a 6 or an 8. i tell him 6. he starts to laugh and says his g/f has a 94 auto and his non-vtec prelude can beat it. he then told me that my car only had 150hp and was wayyyy too heavy and underpowered. i told him "yep, its only got 150hp" he asked to race and i told him yeah. light goes green and i pull away from the prelude and won by a great deal and we got down to the next light and he's looking with amazement, embarrasment, and anger all at the same time. i tell him the following before i part from him:

"the mustangs now have close to 200hp and have been since '99. and they only weight about 3100lbs. this car runs 15's as opposed to the high 16's-17's your g/f's car runs assuming its stock. please, next time you get cocky and show off, know your **** before you talk ****."

i then winked at his g/f, smiled at her, and drove off.
