You should see it with traction and a minor pully swap

Fun little ride tho wasn't it.

Which is why I don't miss mine. The spec 3 I have is light as hell and take very, and I mean very, little movement to complete the full disingagement. I used to get a leg cramp in rush hour with the old one. This one, not a problem.

I'd love to try one out sometime, especially with a solid axle and see how different it feels from mine with the centri blower

I loved driving the 04 cobras around when I worked at ford. The stock clutch is very comfortable imo.

handles so well... in a straight line?

you talk about it handling well, then elaborate by saying you went in a straight line. lol.

I'd like to drive one to compare it to my car

buddy the test drive consisted of driving in more than just the street where i punched it. i was able to take turns pretty fast without the tires squeeling.

So you got the black SC option? It's nice that they offer that, it really matches the car.

I am still waffling about whether to get that option or not on this car. I am leaning towards the Steigmeir Stage III port right now, but I change my almost daily about that. lol. I almost think I am going to do the Steig on the vert, and pick up a coupe as a daily driver once the 07's come out...either with the black option already, or put one on later...or just wait for the new lightnings to come out and get a older one with the same thought. Man, there I go again, can't make up my mind. lol

Ok, ok, I know, back to topic.

Yeah, they are fun to drive.

That is a Whipple SC and I believe JC is over 600RWHP. Maybe he will chime in and tell us his last dyno run numbers!!

I know. But if you read his sig, he specifically mentions how stock it is and that he has the Black SC option. Really, it is stock. Just ask him.

It's all in good fun... I'm not a big fan of Dyno numbers because as we all know, you can't race dynos !!! ... having said that, the car did make 575 RWHP and 525 RWTQ @ 15 psi of boost through a catted X pipe and 613 RWHP and 577 RWTQ @ 17 psi... I don't have any numbers on the sauce as my factory clutch got toasted on the dyno after several street runs to get a tune on the car... The car did run a string of 10.92's @ 130-132 off the sauce with the messed up clutch and at full weight with ET Streets and Bogart Skinnies up front.

The car is a little bitt off the stock configuration but please don't let anybody know OK !!! The car is not the fastest car around but it is trully a sleeper...

Jeez, like any '03-'04 Cobra is a sleeper. Pull the bumpers, hood, and cobra badges...and then maybe.

Ok... wait a minute while I go into the garage and remove all that worthless stuff...

Nah.... I think I'll leave it as is but thanks anyway for the suggestions.

I always thought the clutches in the 99-04 gts were really light feeling. the one that is in my 95gt is alot stiffer than those and mine is still stock and all. You wanna feel a clutch thas really stiff that old gto i drove once would increase your vertical 3 inches i bet if u pushed that stiff mofo in about 20 times a day for a few weeks lol

the 03-04 cobras are not amazing handeling machines... as with any mustangs its cheap to really really help but they are not a corner carver stock.. the IRS helps but its a poor design, and would be the FIRST thing I ripped out

Have you corner carved with an 03/04? While, they won't compare to say a vette or some of the rice jockeys out there...but it is much better than any GT and camaro I have driven. It will hold certainly its own.

And...how did I know you would mention the IRS? lol.

Stock, of course no doubt. Put a little money into the 6 and the tides turn.

A well tuned Suspension on a V6 can blister a Cobra on a road course. The problem being is the heavy front weight of the Iron block makes the 03-04 Cobra very CG front heavy. Now if there is a straight away the V6 is DOOMED!!! The V6 is just about a even as you can get in a rear wheel drive car. NO the 2000 Cobra R is a road course machine with its aluminum 5.4 engine and lack of A/C up front giev it a much better balance. I was reading about the new Shelby 500 Cobra. It weights in a 3885 lbs and did the 1/4 in 12.9 at 475 HP
