Hey College guys

I got a transcript of my military training tonight. I have over 150 credits, most of it in electronics. What's it take to get a BS degree?

Steve

wouldn't you rather have a real degree then a BS one?

Unfortunately credits are not 100% transferable. Most colleges require you take certain courses at their school to get a degree from their college and some will except no little or no military credits. The best deal on using those credits is go to a Jr college and they will give you the most franser available. Then transfer to a University after a year or so.

depends on the major also...

to get the degree in a certain major though you not only have to get credits but you have to take specific classes and i dont know if you can bypass that

I am a witness to the problems of transfering classes especially acroos state lines. I went to Alabama Aviation & Tech College, Auburn, UAB and James Madison. The hoops I had to jump thru and classes I had to retake were a nightmare.

BA's, depending on what you're getting a BA in (I take it electronics) range from 200-240 units, and is also school dependant.

It depends on the school, and they'll want you to jump through certain hoops as far as electives go. You'll have to call a school up and see what you have that will transfer and what they want.

you must have 128~ hours usually but... what those contain is the tricky part. In my case I had to have 50 hours of 300+ lvl courses and of course the massive amount of specialized courses... you may have the hours but you probably wont have the specialized courses required, just go talk to them and see what transfers over. You are probably looking at two more years to clean up the specific fields.
