Corey / Rick question about racing?

In order to get a race, do you have to challenge the person next to you, or do they typically challenge you?

Just wondering cause I have seen some older guys in modded stangs and wondered if they were driving their kid's mustang or what?

Don't know if there is any set way to challenge, usually its an engine reving type thing. Want to piss someone off, rev engines with him, and when he takes off like a bat out of hades, then just take off normally, lol. Oh, and you might be surprized to find there are a lot of us older guys that enjoy modifying Mustangs and driving them.

Being 40 I guess I qualify as older.

I drive my own cars, I mod them because I want to, not to impress some kid who thinks he has a hot ride. If I feel like smacking him down, I do. If I don't then I don't. In fact nothing amuses me more than to get some clown all het up over a race then laugh at him as he spins his tires zooming off in front of a cop. Been there done that. I find no need to prove my manhood racing someone these days. Typically, if I am hammering down the road it is because I have the need for speed, not the need to race. My thrill comes from taking a corner at a faster speed than the last time I went thru it. I challenge myself.

^^^haha i did that to some honda kid a while back. we revved, and both eyed eachother and gave that look like "its on". i brought revs up a little to launching revs, and we both took off. after a light launch i just threw into 2nd while he went flying ahead. i could hear him, 2nd gear, then 3rd, then from a side street out flies a cop and pulls him over. i turned off before passing them, just in case he was a ***** and said "but i was racing him" and the cop got my plates. that was a great night.

I stay aware of my surroundings. I am a defensive drive so I am always looking in the rear view and side mirrors. I usually spot a car who is driving erratic to catch up to me or I am at a light and they either rev and dont look at me. I have only had 2 ask me to race. Most of the time I just notice some coming up on me darting to get up beside me and usually it is a Honda and lately trucks
