Cool new turbo vids

I finally got myself a digital camcorder today. Its a Handycam dcr-hc21 nothing too fancy but its all I need. I broke it in with a few stang videos, have a look.

You will hear a lot of odd noises in the videos. A slight ticking I think is an exhaust leak and valve tap. 95% of the whinning is gear whine from the g-force T5.

This one is a quick 2nd gear pull. You can hear the turbo and blow off pretty good in this one. The tires break loose at about 4500 at which time you can see the rpms jump and the car get a lil sideways.

A 3rd gear pull... You can tell when I nail the gas cause the tripod takes flight at which time the sound gets a lil weird.

This ones just a walkaround while idling

glad to see your car running. But those videos just don't sound right. Maybe I'm used to a turbo spooling til 7500+ rpms, but it just sounds so cut-off when you shift at 5500-6000.

Is it fully tuned? The 3rd gear pull showed your speedo increasing decently, but the road barrels didn't move too fast. You should have more potential in that setup of yours, just wondering

the road barrels aren't placed evenly apart, you can tell.

It doesnt sound right when i shift because im not shifting im just completely letting off the gas. These vids were shot during low boost datalogging pulls. Tuning is still in the early stages, im not ready to beat on it yet.

well, when you shift, you completly let off of the gas, so the sound should be the same.

However, with low boost setting and tuning, that does explain quite a bit.

nah its not... cause when i let of the gas im also pushing in the clutch and letting it drop to idle while drifting.. that should explain it

well, if you shift, then your RPMs don't drop but 1k if you are a decent shifter. Just about what my turboed car does when i let off the gas after I boost.

I guess I am just used to my 4cyl car boosting and it sounds different on a v6. How about we agree that we're just not used to hearing each other's setup

I just think if you could get it to rev to 7000rpms, it would sound better. What rpm do you get the full test boost at? Sounds like around 3700rpms or so
