mustang withdrawls

For starters no i'm not thinking of trading my truck in for any that were thinking that. I'm just having flashbacks of when I had my gt and the fun times I had with it . Sometimes I feel it was a huge mistake when I got rid of it. What makes it worse is I COULD of kept it and got my old ranger. I should of and just left it off insurrance untill I had found a better job, but I was young and stupid at 18. Wow scary thinking that was almost 3 and a half years ago time flies by to fast. Anyway I know this is a very random post, but I was just thinking how I miss my gt. I also hope the new owner of it took as good of care of it as I did. I fixed quite a few things wrong with it when I had it. It was my baby .

For those who haven't see my old stang here is a before and right when I was gonna trade it in (note: the wheels/hood/tails were taken off and the stock stuff was returned)

This I had done to it:
Cobra RR hood, projector headlights with clear corners, clear taillights, eibach prokit springs/tokico shocks and struts, CAI and flowmaster exhaust. Thats all that I can think of.

I've always kinda wondered why the hood was unpainted, but never called you out. Since nate's already done that, why wasn't it painted?

I had just gotten it and was test fitting it and having to do a lot of adjustments so it fit just right and i was broke at the moment lol.

And no nate not ricer I actually had a car with power to back it up.

Oh trust me I know that I owned one still fun to drive non-the-less. Mine was an auto so it was a good bit slower but for an auto it still hauled ***. I could also eat up auto v6's 99+ however just to show you how ford really stepped up on the 6er's in 99. If you have one thats a 5spd it'll keep up with the 94-98 gt auto's.

i dont know about that, my buddy's 95 5.0 is pretty quick. almost quick enough that i sometimes wonder if theres engine work already done to it that was done by the previous owner, that he doesnt know about. on the freeway, going from 70-130, i instantly had 4 cars on him, but after that he said that i stopped pulling away and it was dead even distance till i shut down. i usually take 99 gt's by more.

I said 96-98.. the 4.6 in those years was a huge step down compared to 5.0s..

pfft I must be like the ricer god then, my whole car is unpainted

eclispegstdude; that dont make sense, how do you put a bigger lead on a car with a better motor then a car with a halfway decent motor? unless your talking from a roll..but those races aint no fun. personally I could care less about the other persons topspeed, I wanna know who can get there first.

but yea the 4.6 was horrible in 96-98 had what maybe 215hp? when the 87-92 5.0s still had 225hp/300tq

the 99-04 4.6's still dont impress me with only 260hp/280tq. The only 4.6 I like is the DOHC ones in the cobras/mach1s. which still aint strong enough to beat out ls1's stock for stock unless its a 03/04 cobra and they had to put a blower on it. theres no way to get the power out of a 281 compared to the gm 350 hands down. As much as I like mustangs they dont stand a chance. (im talking stock for stock, so dont say well if you did this....)

Sonic04edge, I get mustang withdrawls to everytime I drive my ranger, So i go home, park the truck then get in the car

^ But they are cheaper stock for stock as well. So if you took the money you'd have spent on an LS1, and put it in the engine, it would be a race.

*sigh* just admit it already the ls1 is superior then the 4.6

they need to bring back a 302 or 351 pushrod or modular(that would be a huge ****ing motor, size wise. the 4.6 is just about the size of a 460..but with pistons like a honda in that huge *** block )

99+ 4.6s had 300+ ft lbs torque.. and they moved down the track about 4 tenths faster than your average stock 5.0..

I know this from experience.. my only complaint with 2V 4.6s is the lack of bottom end torque..

I can swear the purple ones are kinda rare. Like the gold ones in 99-00.

Yes which is one of the reasons I miss it. It was the ONLY purple gt coupe in my area. We had 2 v6 purple ones and a gt vert with white top/interior and that was it no other ones. Also the purple was the base coat for the mystic cobra in 96.

No, the mystic paint was a certain paint itself. It didnt have a base, it was all the "mystic" color.

Thats why it costs so damn much.

Yeah, but the purple was the primary color used in it. That is why you saw the purple on most of the car no matter what lighting.
