"WW" 50 Cal sniper at work in Afghanistan

You will see entire bodies and parts slung around like a wet towel.

Not for the week stomach.

Fifty caliber sniper rifle video on target in Afghanistan
I hope you all can open this video. These are some excellent
“through-the-sniper-scope” video shots of some of our sniper kills in
Afghanistan. These shots are not made through the shooter’s
telescopic sight, ..they are made looking through the spotter’s site.
The spotter lies right next to the sniper and helps the sniper to
find and home in on the target. These are shots taken of former
Taliban forces that have turned into guerilla bandits, thinking they
will have an easier life robbing, looting and killing Afghan
villagers than they will obeying the laws and settling down. This
type of lawless renegade is classic, occurring after every single
conflict the world has ever had. After a war has ended, some people
will just never give up their lawless ways and must be hunted down
and killed.
For those of you not inured to this type of thing, it can appear to
be pretty gruesome. It is necessary folks. Just be thankful you are
not looking at the horrors these very bad guys perpetrated upon some
very innocent Afghan villagers that were just trying to go on about
their lives. Good riddance to some very BAD rubbish (human garbage).

And that is why they are trying to outlaw the use of the 50 cal for snipers. It is thought to be too "inhuman" because of the destruction. Personally, I like the destruction...no doubt as to whether they lived or not. They are just gone. Good riddens. (sp)

They are not going to ban the 50 cal from military use. The 50 cal has been around for over 70 years. As a matter of fact the 50 cal sniper rife has been adopted by all NATO members and the manufacturers are having a tough time meeting demands for this highly accurate weapon.

I don't care what it does to the target, it kills them. Period. End of story. Why design a WEAPON that doesn't cause damage?

Hollowpoints cause damage, but not to the extent a .50 cal does. So they've been deemed inhumane, because they can cause lots of pain, but not always death.

.50 cals on the other hand are pretty damn likely to cause death. I'd rather go from a rocket to the face than several full metal jackets through the chest.

I know it has been around for a long time, but there is a group, I can't think of it off hand, that is trying to remove the 50 cal from the snipers arsonal. Will they succede in this effort? Doubtful, but, it is a movement that is in progress. If I Can find info about it, I will. But, I am just stating what I read in an article once about a year ago or so.

Is this the group BGABK = Bad Guys Against Being Killed!!!!!

Actually there is a group wanting to ban 50 Cals from private ownership and the NRA is not in total disagreement. But I find nothing on banning it from the military

That group isn't too far off. A lot of the issue was the bad guys complaining...and the bleeding hearts saying that being obliterated wasn't humane. I will look for it and see if i can find it. But, it was a rediculous story when I read it. Their stance was that the 50 was meant to disable light armoured vehicles and aircraft. To use it on a human is inhumane as their is too much damage done.

I beleive the movement was started in France or England initially...and then some goofballs over here jumped on the band wagon. It could be that they have given up which is why we can't find anything yet...but, it was once thought to ban the use on human targets.

No, as for banning it for civilian use, I agree and disagree. Since an armor piercing round can penetrate the presidential limo from half a mile away (Learned this on a wonderful expose on CNN...great info to anounce to all the psycho's out there)...it is a scary thought what could happen with the gun in the wrong hands. Then again, a .22 in the wrong hands can kill anyone too...so, there really is no leg to stand on.

Now, I don't want them outlawed because i want one. I think it would be killer to pluck up targets a mile away. If I remember right, there is actually a range here in Baton Rouge that has targets available for .50 rifles.

Just to clarify, no, I am not anti gun...for any type of gun. Ak's, .50's, M1 Garand's, M16's, doesn't matter. I want one too.

With the velocity of a 50 cal hitting you the kenetic energy expelled is 2500 ft per second or 150,000 feet min or 1,704.54 miles an hour or basically like being hit by a truck at 100 MPH

I was a Marine during the first few months of the Iraqi war. The 50 cal is an awesome weapon and hope that they dont do away with it. I got to fire it during peace time but not during the war. I'm glad those rag heads got what they deserve. I will try to find a video of an LAV AD firing its gatling cannon; another awesome display of fire power that would be great to watch.
