Wrecked the mustang..

I'll try to get pics soon enough..

But yea yesterday I was driving up 695 and it was raining. I was going around this bend and this big tow truck was cutting over in my lane so I was almost up against the jersey wall. My stangs traction being such a turd started spinning tires on the road and being so close to the wall I hit it when I fishtailed (my rear bumper hit it) then I slid all the way on the other side of the road and hit the guard rail. I got out of my car and as soon as the truck driver saw I wasn't dead he got back in and drove off! Being in a panic I grabbed my cell phone and called my dad and didn't get a chance to get the tag number of the truck driver. Looking at my car I was thinking wtf wheres my front bumper? Looked in the grass over the guard rail and there it was away from my car. My passenger door wouldnt open it was stuck shut from the smashed fender. My hood was folded like a piece of paper and my rear bumper was a little banged up. My cold air intake was all crumpled up and I saw the belt in my engine all hanging there. The radiator was smashed to hell. I'm sure there was a little more damage I didn't see but today I'll find out if it can be fixed or not. The cops gave me a ticket for not being able to control my vehicle. How lame. -Chris

That sucks man...everyone's gonna say you should have gotten his tag number, but I know in the moment, you forget things like that. So what ya gonna do...full coverage or liability?

I do have full coverage. I'm kind of scared about my car if it can be fixed because everyones been saying it wont run/look the same as it used to.

whys that? any decent body shop can make a car look like it did before the wreck. Unless its a ghetto shop that doesn't even bother to put it on the frame rack if there is a chance of having frame damage or doesn't replace damaged/bent suspension pieces. and why did you tell the cops about spinning out? I probably would have just said the tow truck ran me off the road.

That sounds like a whole lot of damage for an insurance company to pay for...

Glad you're ok.

Hey everyone I just got back from my house in South Carolina (No computer there) Got word on the stang and its getting fixed. (cost: $8700) The dealership that I bought it from is fixing it and I should probably have it back in about 2 weeks. Thanks for the concern everyone. I pretty much thought the car was totalled and was already looking into getting another 300zx, but I'm glad to know I'll be getting the stang back. -Chris

what year car is it? almost 9 thousand dollars seems like a high percentage of value to pay for a car to be fixed instead of just totalling it.

Its a 2003 and it only has about 29k miles on it. I guess the value of the car might be around $10,000 but you know how insurance companys are. They'll get the car fixed before totalling it even if the difference was $1.

I was almost sure it was totalled once I get the pics developed I'll show you all. I was ready to buy a white 300zx but when the insurance company said it wasn't totalled that idea was shot. I still have receipts for my grille delete and chin spoiler and the dealership said if I show them the receipts theyll order new ones and put them back on.
