Need help with my next mod choice

Ok, after hitting the dyno and being a bit disappointed in my numbers, I have decided to move my Supercharger upgrade higher up on my todo list. Here is my dilema.

I have 3 options.

I Can continue to run the eaton at ~15psi, get the porting work and acheive something in the relm of 500-550 rwhp and tq. ~$1500 for the port work and supporting mods.

I can upgrade to the kenne bell and run 15-17 psi before I need to think about race gas. Get the supporting cooling and fuel mods. This will put me in the relm of 550-600 rwhp and tq I believe. ~$5000 for the KB kit and supporting mods.

The other option I have is a whipple. I can run that at 17ish psi, get the cooling and fuel mods like the KB. This should put me over the 600 rwhp and tq mark. ~3800 for the whipple and initial supporting mods. It would require an upgrade in hallfshafts and input spline shortly after. and possibly even an upgrade in pistons to run 17+ psi for extended periods of time.

Anyhow...those are the choices I am going for. I once thought 500 would be enough, but, I know that if I pay for the porting, the 500 won't be enough for long. The idea of getting to 600 and stopping sounds better, and it isn't too hard to get to...it just costs a bit more. So, I figured I would throw the idea out to y'all and see what the non SVT crowd thinks (but those with the terminators can vote too...even those with the black super charger option )

id definitely run the eaton at 15ps and get the porting work to get around 500-550 rwhp and tq for . $1500. thats your best bang for your buck by far

I say it depends on what you're using the car for. If this is a daily driven street car, I would definitely just port the stock blower. Even if it is a weekend warrior that sees a little track time, 500 rwhp is probably more than enough. Now if you have this car at the track every weekend, I'd go ahead and spring for the KB.

Just remember, 600 rwhp is just about a ridiculous amount of power for a street car. It gets to a point where there is so much power that you can't even really use it on the street.

port. I don't know how daily drivable a 550+rwhp cobra is, but if it is managable, then go for that. I personally think around 500-550 from the porting would be your best bet. You would still be able to outrun 98+% of cars on the road, and still be able to drive in stop and go traffic.

Don't know about the whipple or KB in stop and go traffic. might be comparable to a bigger turbo for us 4 banger guys, where the boost comes on hard but lags and is less streetable.

EDIT: forgot to put my trademark answer for "my next mod?" threads ---> nitrous

No giggle juice for me thanks. I want to have the same power no matter where I am...no having to turn the bottle on...turn it off...refill it...blah...

No baby bottle for me...I want my power all the time....everytime.

As for the lag, well, the KB and whipple give more torque sooner (like over 400 or 450 lbs by 2000 rpms)...so the driveablity issues would certainly be there as far as not lighting them up at every stop light.

and I agree, Tracy's car is a beast, as is Predator03's....and everone else out there with a KB. It is just tough as a guy on SVTP has the whipples for 2800 instead of the 3995 for the kb...it's a tough one for me. Then, the porting at only 1500 just throws another monkey in the barrel.
