I like the 240, but for a non-hi end import I'd choose a Jeep - It is German isn't it?

what he is calling rice is the big *** chrome bastard, i particularly dont mind them when they serve their purpose, but you can get away with doing the same thing with a dynomax race bullit, or ultraflow round, with less bling

i guess i need a muffler from apexi since my car is turbo, i have it all wrong...i need turbo lessons

i agree with eclipse when it comes to exhaust, doing an exhaust on and import like that is the same as a doing 1 on a v6 or gt wether its the whole system done or just a muffler put in place

danger dude i totally disagree. as you know, a straight through(turbo style) muffler greatly reduces the amount of backpressure over chambered or other mufflers. and backpressure is the enemy of turbo's. backpressure helps on n/t cars by creating low end torque, but chokes up top. a straight through muffler helps turbo's spool faster and leaves more flow for the top end.

and tbird, i said turbo style cause i couldnt think of "straight through" at the moment.

Actually, back-pressure does "hurt" performance of naturally aspirated motors as well. Just not in the way that many people think. Back-pressure is not the only thing that is important to the way an exhaust system performs. The velocity of the exhaust gases traveling through the system is also very important. With a larger pipe, there is less back-pressure but the gases will move slower due to their ability to expand into the pipe. With a smaller pipe, there is more back pressure, but the gases will pass through the exhaust system at a greater velocity.

At low rpms, the exhaust gases will naturally move more slowly and a larger pipe will only amplify this effect. However, at high rpms, the gases are now moving at a higher velocity and are not affected as much by the larger pipe size. This is when back-pressure becomes more of a downside than velocity.

In order to achieve maximum performance, the exhaust system should have the proper balance of velocity and back-pressure for the rpm range in which the engine most often operates. For street cars, this is going to be mostly low and mid-range. Cars that operate in a higher rpm range, however, will be better suited to a larger system or more open (i.e. open headers) system.

One final aspect that should be considered is engine size and efficiency. Simply put, a larger engine more efficient engine is going to produce more exhaust gases than a smaller engine. The more gases produced, the larger the pipe can be before velocity due to excessive gas expansion becomes a problem.

In conclusion, yes a 5" fart cannon on a four cylinder motor is indeed rice.

Nope its a fart cannon anyway you look at it. But if your not fimilar with turbo setups then just consider it a fartcannon because it is. But this entire system is a product from megan for turbo'd cars and it was cheap for me.. Basically when it came to choosing parts I got whatever my boss told me I could get for next to nothing. Personally I didnt want such a huge tip but now im just too supercool now.
Let me be honost here, im not a import guy nor have i ever really liked them.
But I got a new job at a performance shop here in manch and got a good deal on a second car and basically any part I wanted...
I've always liked nissan skylines and nissans for some reason, so when i saw a cheap 240 a nice rear wheel drive import I said crap, ill buy it.
I needed it anywany for all I want to do to all these mustangs I have now... lol. The v6 wont be a v6 anymore sorry guys That and I pulled the motor from the 66 too. I cant wait till I buy a house just to pull up to my yard full of mustang parts everywhere like my poor dads house.
Also this 240 project isnt really costing me much. You'd be suprised. Plus it will be fun to have a 13 second car as your daily driver for a while.
