Need Fox body opinions on this car

Ok, the price for the buy it now is a bit steep, but besides that, what are y'alls opinion on this? I am going to be in Iowa in about a month, and will be able to drive it back without having it shipped.

Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6236

Blue book has it at like $3500 retail and I believe it was $2300 for a private party sale. Since this is from a dealership, I would expect them to try and high ball me.

But, here would be my plans for the car. I would sell my explorer, as I am trying to do currently. Use the car as a daily driver for a while as I save up the resources to start converting it over to a 5.0 of some point with either a 347 or 393 type stroker. The 4 cylinders would certainly help with the gas issues. And for some reason, I really like the interior...I think because it is just so damn loud.

Anyhow....does anyone have any input on this car? Any help would be great.

Thanks

not bad... but porno red interiors suck.... and get a hardtop if you are going to race it. The older ones were hacked up hardtops, not true convertables... at least the mid 80s were so they have horrid body flex.

No intensions of racing it. That red interior is really growing on me...I think because it is so over the top.

Initial use would be for a daily driver...future use would be for a 600+ hp naturally aspirated daily driven show car. Track visits...if existant...would average <1 a year. maybe on visit to see what it does...and then thats it.

Damn...I guess I don't want to buy this car anyhow. I asked him about the undercarriage as far as is there any rust. I also asked if he would consider taking a vehicle as a trade for part of the price. And I also asked if he was firm on the 5k for a 93 4 cylinder mustang...and here is his reply

I don't care what he says, a bank isn't going to finance a price ABOVE book value...and I, personally, wouldn't even think of paying above book value even if the car was rock solid. Shmuck.

Quote:
No IM not interested in any trades at this point, I believe this car is in great shape for the year. Did you look at the photos? You should be able to tell what great shape it is in. As for underneath the car it just seems like a normal car. Plus the previous owner had a second car for winter driving As for the NADA price that you are talking about, the book is saying that every 93 mustang convertible in America is worth that amount. Do you really feel that every 1993 mustang convertible is worth the same amount? Mine is in great shape. So if mine is in great shape, compared to one that has rust holes through the sides, are worth the same amount? My Interior is spotless and others I have seen have had rip's and burn holes in them. Are they worth the same amount? I understand what you are saying about book values but some cars are above book value, but is a rough car and a nice car worth the same amount?According to the book value they are. I wouldn't pay book value for a rough car and I would pay above book value for a nice one. I would suggest just bidding as much as you feel the car is worth and see what happens.....If you have more questions please feel free to email me...Thanks!

I had an 86 V6 vert, didn't get much at all for her on trade, and it was in great shape. Traded it for my V6 94 vert. About 01 I think.
