Affordable Aston Martin

who would have thought, that you can buy an Aston Martin DB7 for around $40k. I would never have thought that the value of an Aston Martin would be so cheap. You can find a 2000 or so with like 20k miles for $40k on ebay. There are tons of them. I think I know what my next car will be

DB7 has gay seats sometimes; The ones without the head rests. It sucks that it's only a 5 speed too. And that I've never seen one with the convertible top that was the same color as the car, they always have the tan top.

whats bad about a 5-speed? I dont really see the point of having 2 overdrives. But for $40k I'd take a new Cobra.

more gears means you can have shorter gears with equivelant top speed or higher top speed with equivelant acceleration when compared to a five speed.

Re: Affordable Aston Martin

I think I will wait until the DB9 is available for that price. Now, one of those would be very nice. I saw the race against the train episode of Top Gear (???), and it was stated repeatedly that it is a drastic improvement over the DB7.

And AM is a ford? That makes more sense then as to why Ford gave the Top Gear putz a DB9 as a loaner when he *****ed about is GT and gave it back to Ford and got his money back. I lernt somethin today.

I like the look of the Aston Martin, I played it last night on Gran Turismo 4, the ****ing thing had no traction through the 1-2nd gears though.

Haha I hear ya, I gave up on it, its a Mustang website, you would think most people who were big into mustangs would be big into cars in general. However, it seems that most people here are just into fords or mustangs only, with some more going into just domestics, but for the most part, it seems that noone likes anything else. It really shouldn't be a suprise really, it is a Mustang site after all. I myself enjoy anything that is moved with explosions.

I would drive it hard everyonce and a while. but with the Aston Matin, i won't need to prove anything. It would be a car to cruise in. I have a pretty fast evo now and don't hammer it very often. I pretty much drive the speed limit or about 5mph over it. Why speed thru traffic all the time just to prove you have a fast car? why endanger my life or others? why risk getting a speeding ticket?

just my 5 cents

Man, around here it's always the corvettes and stuff causing traffic. Every time I see a fast car there are 20 cars behind it cause it's going 10 under Then there are tons of CRX's going as fast as they can squeezing through people between lanes and driving between your car and the curb on city streets as if they were going to turn right, but then they try to get you off the line and get ahead of everybody. ****ing kids!

Every once in a while I'll see a fast car speeding, but mostly I see the fast cars driving like normal people.

Re: Affordable Aston Martin

Personally, I will probably never buy a $40k car. You can have more fun building a faster, better handling that is EXACTLY how you like it for much less money. I would rather say "I built this car with my own two hands so I can enjoy it" than "I drive an exotic because of the name".

but that's why you modify the exterior of your car?

you guys amaze me "i love cars and driving, but i don't want to be seen...I am too good to drive anything other than a ford (btw, Aston Martin is owned by ford)...I don't have to prove anything to anyone, so I modify my mustang so it's faster than other people and draws attention, that I don't want"

exactly. I have figured out that the faster your car is, the slower you drive. Look at CRXs and v6 mustangs and whatnot. They all have to speed and drive crazy to keep their momentum and to "prove" they have a "fast" car. Where as cars that are fast from the factory just drive in the slow lane because they already know they're fast as well as the people around them... as well as the cops

I enjoy all kinds of cars. Well, all kinds of custom cars, whether it be a Ford or a GM or a Toyota or anything else. Cars straight from the factory don't do much for me, no matter how fast it is. I also don't really care much for cars that are usually associated with people that have more money then sense.

I would drive a TransAm but wouldn't buy one over a Cobra. Probably will never own a TransAm.. just not my thing to spend money on.

I am not modding my car to prove a damn thing to anyone. If they like my car then cool.. if not then they can **** off... its my car.

If you want to pay 40,000 dollars for a used car just to have a status symbol then whatever thats you. I got better **** to spend 40k on lol

You can say "we" amaze you, but honestly people that spend that much money on a car that isnt even new, is 5 years old... those people amaze me
