Sweet, I've been waiting for the video, I bet that ruined his mustang week, and it was the first day. I think that was the only wreck of the week though

most of the fords, when they spin the tires, the rear end steps out just a little, and it seems he over corrected, and took off into the side of traffic

He lost traction and started to spin as normal, hammered it into second and then the *** end took off. He is not someone that has never stretched the legs of that car. It is someone that races all the time and knows how to handle his car. The problem was that he had on less grippy tires compared to what he was used to. Figured he was in control and would get grip in second like he used to with the stickier tires. Then, as would be expected with 600+ hp, the car got away from him before he could do anything. The guy is an active member of Motor City Terminators and races competitively. He just happened to have a bad day.

See, I don't think you read what I wrote. This is someone that RACES that car weekly. Someone that is not some 19 yo punk that can't handle the car. Prior to the trip, he had bogarts on the car. For whatever reason, he had street tires, possibly F1s, on the car for the trip. Bogarts vs Street tires is a huge difference.

Before anyone goes off on their holier than tho mentality about the guy, you should do some research into who you are talking about. Zim, read the original thread on SVTP about the deal. You will see that he is not some punk that can't handle the power. Threads like this one are being started all over the web dissing the guy and making blind statements like you are.

To put this into perspective, if GT-Eater put his car into the wall at the strip, would everyone be saying "that idiot obviously can't handle that power"? Only the ignorant ones will be saying that. The same is true about Kenny (the guy that crashed). Only the ignorant are making those statements.

It is a very unfortunate event. He did nothing different than what anyone else at Mustang Week were doing. With 600 at the wheels, **** can get out of control in a split second. Even the seasoned driver can lose it. Plus, not all the details are in yet. Something could have snapped, blown, or gotten stuck prior to the wreck. Nothing is coming out yet because of insurance reasons. The odds of any more details being posted are probably Zero because of insurance reasons.

/rant off

To me it looks like his tires were actually pretty sticky... Ive had something like that happen to me where you start doing a burnout... one of your tires catches some pavement and swings your car sideways while the other ones still spinning. It sucks when it happens, but whether he races every week or not... he still wasnt able to handle his power. Im not an ignorant person... the guy could be the nmra champion for all I care, the point is he wasnt able to handle his power right there. Im not ignorant, but Im really ****ing stubborn

I don't car if they guy was Richard Petty, or whom ever, they type of conduct on the road is not only assinine (sp), but dangerous. Lucky no one got hurt because "Billy BadA$$" wanted to show off his 600hp Cobra.

I'm sorry if he got hurt, and his car got trashed, and I'm sure his insurance company is non the too pleased, but it shows an extreem lack of judgment on his part.

Keep it to the track. Just like anything in life, we do something totally assnine(spelling again) and the outcome is not what we had wished.

i guess he wasnt skilled enough to figure out how to let off the gas.

back when i had the tbird, i was behind a 96ish gt waiting to make a left turn. when the arrow turned green, he punched it and got a little squirrely, but he still looked like he was in control, when he exited the intersection onto the street he mustve found a slick patch of road and his rear end just lost it and he went 90* into the concrete curb that devides the street and beached himself.

i drove by and laughed, slipped into Neutral, revved it to 5k, dropped it into Drive and layed down a nice patch of rubber and got a good 45* drift going(kinda hard to do with 1 wheel peel just going in a straight line) and recovered, showed him how to really do it.

I think im gonna take the sides with the guy. you cant go off a stop light with 600HP under you and expect to go straight down the lane. Yes it is a sad sight to see but give the guy a break lol, with 600HP... You could be the best driver on one side of the United States but that Horse Power will always do something different and unexpected one day or another, 600HP = A wild out of control Black Stallion that over the years you must learn how to control.
