Digital camera suggestions

Hello peepz! I have a Sony Cybershot Dsc P52. The thing is not working very well and it would cost me more than it is actually worth to repair it. So...I will be getting a new camera this weekend. You guys have any suggestions? I wanna keep it in the $300 range I guess. I am looking for more zoom. the old one has 2x optical zoom and was not enough. I guess I don't want anything less than 3.2 megapixels, which is what I had and was satisfied with.

Re: Digital camera suggestions

Here is the camera I just bought a few months back. It is like a G5, but not as expensive. 5 mpx with video, flip out screen, cool shot modes, $299.99.

Re: Digital camera suggestions

You can flip the LCD out, you can turn it around and close it tight to the camera, you can angle it nearly any direction you want. It is a great ferature. It rotates horizontal 180*, so it goes from flat against the camera to extended flat out from the camera. It then also rotates something like 270* horizontal. So yes, you can have the LCD flat against the camera. You can also have the LCD flat and not showing. If this doesn't make sense, I can take some good pics of its function with my phone when I get home and show you what I am talking about.

It's not pretty? lol What is a pretty camera? They all pretty much look the same...one of like 3 or 4 body designs.

Well, it is a good camera if you don't end up finding anything "pretty". lol

yes it does. I originally bought the 4 megapixel version, but it didn't take audio so i returned it and got the 5.1 megapixel one which does.

Re: Digital camera suggestions

It is less pretty than the one I suggested...and costs more and doesn't have the rotating LCD screen (which really is a nice feature).

Re: Digital camera suggestions

When it came to buying my first digital camera, I wanted to have a really good top of the line model without spending too much.

This was like 2 years ago mind you. I got the Canon PowerShot S410. Wonderful camera, very easy to use, and everything about it is great. I recommend going with a new canon camera.

You won't be disappointed, it does everything but your homework.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Canon...oductDetail.do

that's the one I'd recommend, check out the customer reviews on it.

The Kodak you are looking at is also pretty good, they are normally pretty easy to use. Got Kodaks for my folks as their first camera, it's basic enough for older adults anyway

No it doesn't. *hmph*. Actually, the resolution is the same both at 5 mpx, but the kodak one does have more zoom.

I am sure it is a good camera, but, I used to work for Kodak at their headquarters and well, they didn't use kodak cameras for any of their professional software. lol. Go figure.

Re: Digital camera suggestions

Honestly, I don't see the $200 extra worth of features on that camera. It is pretty much the same as the A95 in a different case. There are a couple of differences, but I don't see $200 vlaidating differences.

But, I am not an expert...I am just a point 'em and click 'em kinda person.

Re: Digital camera suggestions

Is zoom worth $200? You could get the kodak and have 50x zoom for 314. That's a $160 savings and have more zoom.

It looks like a good camera. I admit that, but if you are looking for a budgeted camera, get the Kodak if you like the zoom.
