Re: Geez.... *Political Warning*

When you enlist in the military, you should, at least, understand that you can be called to risk your life, and your family should also understand this. With all the roadside bombs and terror tactics being used there, a lot of the people getting killed in no way are combat arms mos types, like this guy who was a Humvee mechanic, he was still in a war zone and it can be dangerous. People who like to protest, think of it this way, our death toll just went over 1800 people. In Vietnam we lost over 50,000 in 10 years, by comparison our casualty rate is pretty low I think.

Re: Geez.... *Political Warning*

what about the thousands of parents that lost their children in Iraq because of saddams mass graves and torture chambers? Guess nobody gives a rats *** about them. So you guys go tell the women in iraq that are VOTING for the first time in their life that our soldiers died for 'No reason'. I thought libs were supposed to care about human rights?

Oh I am sure they do, as long as it doesn't mean risking their own ***.

You know when you enlist in the armed forces, there is a chance you can be called to risk your life for your country. It's not your job to decide if you want to go, you signed up to go. Ppl need to stop complaining and start supporting.

the article said he was a humvee mechanic, not a front line infantry soldier

and as far as human rights, the iraqies don't appreciate it, it they did, they wouldn't try to stone our troops or swear them out every time they pass

Re: Geez.... *Political Warning*

Well, I think people should also think about the fact that all they know is what the news is telling them. There are about 1000 more layers of information that they don't know about. Before you sit there and say thing like "I told them Iraq was not a threat to the United States and that now people are dead for nothing.", think about all the information you don't know.

Ok, Iraq doesn't have WMD that we can find. Oh well. Iraq has in the past, and is now, a hotbed of terrorists. They are all pissed over us being there because we are trying to shut down their training camps. That is why there are so many suicide attacks and such. I, for one, would like to see us walk through every middle east country that houses and supports terrorists and just wipe out everyone (terrorist camps, supporters, etc) we come to. World opinion? Forget them. We don't need the frenchies, germans, or russians to say "Good work guys".

And like was already said, when you sign up, you should know that there is a chance you will need to be in front of an enemy and could die. The military is not just a free ride where you get paid, trained, and then get out and move on to new jobs. It also isn't just a new scholarship fund. The military is a means of national security. When the nation needs you, you STFU and do your job....which is what 99% of the soldiers are doing. There are only a few that are doing the deserting strategy...of which I think that is wrong. Like the guy that just got off for being a concientious objecter. BS...you signed up, STFU and do you job.

don't get me wrong, I feel bad for him and his family, but front line or not, he still signed up for the ARMY, and part of the job description is WAR.

it seems like tons of people think the military is something you join to get a free college education. that pisses me off.

And I don't care if the guy was a cook or a desk jockey in the military. HE SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE. Not W. Not anybody but the soldier.

The mom is a tard. W killed nobody.

Re: Geez.... *Political Warning*

stupid.

really stupid.

bush didn't kill her son, her son signed up for the army.

joining the army won't give you a free ticket to anything without that risk that you've taken by going to war and putting your life up on the line.

There's a house down from mine with an MIA flag waving outside. Do you think they would parade this flag with pictures of their loved one around all over the place so they could get the media?

Do you think the mother would have done the same exact thing if everyone supported the war?

Think about it.

omg, bush did not put her son in Iraq. Joining the military means you will go where they send you. THERE WAS NOT A DRAFT!!! He was not forced to go to Iraq by Bush or anybody else. If there had been a draft, your position might make a little more sense, but he chose the military, he chose to serve wherever the army sent him!!

Hey look, even John Kerry said yes. I wonder if he would have been made president, if this same thing would have happened to him... Nope, I doubt it.

Re: Geez.... *Political Warning*

Wow this is interesting. Who killed her son. Well as I see it she is part culprit. If she had instilled in him the desire to go to college and or aved money to get him into college maybe he would still be around. I believe the insurgents are also to blame for his death because if was not for them we would not be at war and most of the troops would be home. I would also put blame on the 9/11 attackers because if they had not attacked we would still be going about our American lives not really worried about terrorism because it was not happening here.

Problem is people die whether by accident, illness or war. We all need to stop trying to blame everyone else for our decisions. We have a volunteer army, nobody has to join, but they still do. Why is that????? If it is for education good but with that education there are risks of war. If here son died in Afghanistan would she be any less angry NO!! She needs to regroup her life like everyone else does and move on after a loss.

We as a society have become week and have no concept of sacrifice. Nobody in the US really has to struggle anymore. Hell even our poor are better off than any poor in the world. I see kids in the ghetto with nicer clothes than me with $100 plus tennis shoes. No we are soft. I see no ration lines fore food or gas like they did in WWII. Between 1941 and 1945 there were no new cars, gas was rationed, bread was rationed, copper was taken out of the penny and replace with steel.

No My condolences to the mother but thats it.

While all the people you named probably have something to do with why we are there now, I still think her son is the only one responsible for it.
