some vids from today

and all i have to say is **** THE TRACK! once again, i am dissapointed with my times.

i ran the same exact times as last time 15.9/16.0 but on those runs i was cutting 2.4-5 60' times. so i guess if i were to get the 60' down to 2.0, the times i had hoped for would have more than likely been acheived. i just couldnt launch it. however, i gained 3mph in the traps.

only did two runs and then stopped b/c i was so disgusted so i got a couple runs of robs cobra, one of a t/a, and one of some bikes.

there are four vids i got. my camera was full after those so i couldnt get any more.

-rob vs bullit- bullit had 4.10s, full exhaust, and cai Click here to watch rob-vs-bullit
-rob vs truck- what was funny about this is 1.2 secs after the truck passed the 1/8 mile, rob finished the 1/4. Click here to watch rob-vs-truck
-T/A vs truck Click here to watch ta-vs-truck
-two bikes Click here to watch bikes

Re: some vids from today

Now, if only I could drive. My best tonight was the second vid, the 13.1 @ 113. That run had a 60' of 2.3. I think I could have broke 12's had I done one more because I finally started to get the launch, burnout, and shifting down. I was half temped to get someone to run my car for me, but I didn't trust anyone there. I am sorta ok though because I did drop .8 from my previous best when stock and gained 5 mph, so I will live with that out of my no driving ***.

Now, for sunday when we get some in car stuff and other shots of my car and probably some of Kyle's too.

I can't imagine you running a 2.0 60' without a posi-unit and some good street tires/dr's.

What mods do you have?

i think its relatively acheiveable. before my programmer, i have cut a best of a 2.2 60'.......i think that with the extra down low power from the programmer i can definately hit a 2.1, a 2.0 might be pushing it though, but i dont see it as a totally impossible task

i have a cai, udp, flowmaster muffler, and a programmer.....i will hopefully get dyno results next week

Re: some vids from today

Don't get me wrong, it would be great if you could get your 60' down that low with just the mods that you have now, but it's just not going to happen. That 60' will not go down unless you invest in mods to help with traction (ie. posi unit, dr's or really good street tires, battery relocater). What kind of tires do you have now? Size?

Can I ask what the exact # of that 2.2' foot run was (to the thousanths)? I honestly can't see you running anywhere near a 2.1 with just what you have now.

Re: some vids from today

i am running some yokohama AS430 (i think) 245/50.

the exact 60' was a 2.249 and a 10.235 in the 1/8.

i know with the programmer it feel alot more "jumpier" than before and is alot easier to break the tires loose.

For some comparison, here's the numbers from the best ET slip that I have. I'm running pretty much the exact same setup as you (you can look at my car domain site):

1/8: 10.078
MPH: 71.13
1000: 13.050
1/4: 15.616
MPH: 87.24

Mods are listed on Page 3 of my Cardomain site in my sig

altitude, track conditions, tires, traction, etc.

i spun through the 1-2 shift for a couple secs, that might have made me lose some time, which is why we are relatively close until the 1/8. also, the listed reasons could be why you ran better.

i know my car can do better than that. hell, i have a vid that i showed everyone of a 0-90 sprint. it only took 13 secs to do that. and i couldnt even get to 90 in 16secs at the track. i know its more accurate and all that bull****, but i also know that the timer on the vid isnt gonna be 3 secs off.

oh well, **** the track, i am not goin back to race.....to watch, yes, but not to race. i just go and get dissapointed. i know its faster but cant make it faster at the track.

That 0-90 sprint shows nothing of how fast you can run a 1/4 mile. If you're relying on that to think that your car should run faster on the track, then like you said, you're in for a rude awakening.

Don't stay away from the track....go and race, talk to the people there, learn some pointers from the people who go every week. That's the only way you'll learn how to get the times that you expected. That's how I learned. Practice makes perfect.

i realize that, but the point i am getting at is that i ran a 15.9 @ 87 and on that 0-90 vid i got to 90 in 13........just really doesnt make sense to me. i know that times will vary, but by 3 secs? if i can do 0-90 in 13 secs on the street, shouldnt i be close to that on the track as well? same car, same launch, same shift points, just a different road.....empty road vs track.

i dont know why its 3 secs off, or why its so much slower at the track. maybe its my driving, maybe its the conditions, maybe its both. i dont know, nor do i really care anymore. everytime i go to the track, i get dissapointed.

i know its faster than the times. i know i am gonna get comments for this but i have run with much faster cars on the street. i know, "yeah well that doesnt matter b/c its not on the track and there are not times" and all that bull****. but wouldnt you agree that if both cars are at WOT, regardless of where its at, that the faster car will walk away? seems like a basic law of physics to me. example, i have ran 0-90 with an integra ls 5-speed and after 70 i started to slowly pull until 90 when i let up b/c i had about 1 1/2 cars on him. we stopped at a gas station and he was very suprised at the performance of my car. at first he didnt believe it was a 6 until i showed him. he then showed me a timeslip from a track called No Problem Raceway down here that showed a 15.2 @ 90. and also said he didnt mess anything up (shifts, launch, etc), which is why is he was so suprised b/c i guess he thought a V6 stang would be a piece of cake.

but it doesnt matter, i know its faster, and i'll have my fun with it. as of now i am never goin back to race. its just aggrivation and dissapointment that i dont need.

Re: some vids from today

well its better you have better numbers on the street than on the track since you are on the street 99.99999% of the time. Is it possible a track could have a very slight incline or are they all perfectly level? And i guess it could be possible that when you time yourself some other places you are on a slight decline. but i dont know ****, just speculating
