I know this is off topic from mustang stuff but i want to try and help my bro. He has a 2003 jeep liberty limited 4wd. it has 45,000 miles on it and the dealership says that he needs two front rotors and brake pads which will cost $600. I thought with the low mileage he wouldn't need new rotors or they could just be resurfaced. what does anyone else think? oh and the break pads are at 20%.
And on top of that they say he needs a new serpentine belt that cost $500
are they jacking my brother around or is this reasonable? he has to drive from CA to Idaho this week to finish school and needs this stuff done by Friday... also he said they told him that his tensioner is frozen. what the hell does that mean?!? if it was "frozen" wouldn't the belt not move therefore his car wouldn't even turn on since the engine can't crank over??? i assume their talking about the pulley/tensioner but i don't know...
can somebody try and help me out even though this doesn't deal with mustangs? i would appreciate it greatly.
