Cobalts?

Ok, remember that vid I posted up with that Cobalt SS "keeping up" with an "Sti"?

I talked to a guy at work who owns a Cobalt. I asked if he saw the vid, he said, "Yeah it wasn't an STi the guy was just stupid." He told me how an SS Cobalt could beat an SRT-4, a Ford F-150, Saturn Red-Line, and some other cars.

This true?

To me, this all reminds me of the good ol SRT-4, fastest car on the internet days. He said the car has like 190hp to the wheel cuz it's super charged.. But do you really think it can do all that?

Re: Cobalts?

the cobalt SS are nothign to joke about for a 4cyl car. Compared to the cavaliers they are light years ahead in my opinion. I would def take one over a Neon srt4 or a focus svt or something along those lines.

first off, no stock cobalt SS will ever come close to a srt4. add a pulley, exhaust, intake, and it might stick next to it, from a roll..........of course, add a 10$ boost controller to the srt4 and say bye bye cobalt. plus the LSD equipped srt4's can pull 1.8 60ft's if they try hard enough, thats a dam good launch for a fwd. cant do that in no 1wheel peel fwd with insta-boost.

second off, who really says they can beat a F150? its a truck for crying out loud.

thirdly, the Ion Redline and Cobalt SS are the same dam car.

http://www.tuningnews.net/news/04040...-cobalt-ss.php - the cobalt SS
http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/ly/redline.htm - the ion redline

nope, supercharged ecotec 2.0 I4, a whopping 205hp.

basically it takes chevy a supercharged 2.0 to make the same amount of power a naturally aspirated RSX-S makes stock. and guess what, the rsx-s has way better top end, and all that torque down low for the cobalt is only going to hurt it(being fwd).

Re: Cobalts?

I hate these cars.

They look like a normal car but like the Honda Si version of it, you know?

Re: Cobalts?

WRX is weak from a roll. AWD is nothing but dead weight once its moving.

a buddy of mine w/ a WRX pushing 260whp had trouble keeping up to an SRT-4 tonite from a roll. but took him from a dig.

Re: Cobalts?

i dont mind the cobalts... they look way better than a cavalier and the SS's are a decent car for the price. Its kind of like a GTP grand prix... a supercharged car thats just a fun daily driver unless you dump loads of money into it.
