Re: Elephants, lions to roam North America once more?

These people are nuts. In a perfect world it might sound good but think about it When does nature cooperate with mankind. We take the Portugese and there insistance to make bee's make more honey. They take African Bee's to Brazil and mate them with honey bee's that excape creating killer bee's or the French who decided in the 19th century to introduce banana trees to the US and with it they brought the fire ant. That was a good one. No what I see here is the beginning of a Jurrasic Park. Having Lions and Cheetah's free roaming in a park is insane. In the report they said "Free-roaming, managed cheetahs in the southwestern United States could save the fastest carnivore from extinction, restore what must have been strong interactions with pronghorn and facilitate ecotourism as an alternative for ranchers" How do you manage wild cheetah's This is insane and goes back to the chaos theory anything that can go wrong will and this is a bad idea.

That is all cool and everything but a Zebra wont hunt you down and eat you and a lemor is a weezel like animal you could hunt with a slingshot.

Re: Elephants, lions to roam North America once more?

gonna go off on a limb... i highly doubt they would just chuck animals in, odds are itd be a very low to non populated area and the animals would be under close supervision and heck pry even fenced in knowing people nowadays, not like they gonna chuck a elephant in the middle of times square and see if it can make it on its own. AND introducing them to remote areas would be kinda cool

you'd need a continous food supply for them too. so you'd have to either feed them or introduce something else like antelope or large tree groves.

Re: Elephants, lions to roam North America once more?

And this is in the news while we are discussing this. This was a photo shoot with a supposed tame tiger.

MOUND VALLEY, Kan. — A Siberian tiger (search) attacked and killed a teenage girl who was posing for photos at a family-run animal sanctuary Thursday in southeast Kansas, authorities said. We are food for these animals!!!!
