no stang for a while

Yep, I shot a spark plug clear out of the head, I'll take a closer look tomorrow when I have some light... there was a lot of aluminum there though so I'd imagine that it is stripped..

Re: no stang for a while

overtorqued spark plugs? thats usually the main thing that will make plugs blow out of the head, the threads being messed up, or them being stressed from being overtorqued

Re: no stang for a while

and undertightening the plugs can lead to them loosening until they blow out. guess I'll use my torque wrench next time..

Re: no stang for a while

you do know the heads are labor-instensive to install? helicoil would be much cheaper and will usually work.. .... in NA applications.. so yeah I'd say heads are your best bet

The plug bounced around in the head while I drove home.

I checked the rest of the plugs and there was no sign of detonation at all.
