Re: DSM Gone.......

I felt pretty bad when I totalled Jessica.. now I can't wait to get rid of this 6 and get an 8. I might feel slightly bad, but I didn't give this car a name.

It shocks me sometimes the attachment people today have over materialistic items. I like my car but if it burned down tonight I would just buy another. I guess when you get older you just dont get emotional about things that really are not that important compared to family and good health.

I absolutely don't miss my old car, eventhough it was the best thing ever. Something about getting another car that makes you forget the old one. Sure...I don't want something to happen to my stang...but if it does I'll just buy a better one.

When my Camaro got smashed into on the passenger side by dumb biatch driving her dad's truck, I balled like a baby. I didn't right there, but later. I had left it, we got back, the police were waiting, I saw the devastation...the cop said "You can cry if you need to...". I held back.

Re: DSM Gone.......

it wasnt just the car. it was the whole dsm scene that i realized was finally gone. i was the first to get a dsm, and i was the last to give mine up. doing so was the realization of the end of a 2 year era of my life that was centered around that car. so much time and pain went into it, i cannot even fathom doing all that again, though i prolly will.

i cant see how people DONT get attached to their cars. to me, a car is more than a few pieces of metal and a engine, tranny, 4 rims and tires. its a living, breathing entity, each one different in its own way. when i sit in my car, it molds itself to me, and i feel connected. i can feel each tire on the surface, wether its getting 100% grip or 10%, i can feel the brakes compress when i hit the pedal, i can feel air getting sucked into the motor and the fuel running under me, into the injectors, and feeding the air to create forward momentum. as soon as i step into the vehicle i am connected. and i will never be able to feel that connection with the eclipse(well, that one at least).

whats even more saddening, is that cars not gonna last long under its new owner. since we signed the deal and i handed him the keys in sac, he still had to drive me home. at stops, he would pump the gas and pump the clutch on takeoff, even a act2100 isnt gonna last long under those conditions. driving on the freeway, he never used 5th gear, we did 4500rpm the whole dam way home. you know how annoying of a sound 4500rpm is? and he didnt get the concept of fwd. it rained, and he couldnt, for the life of him take off without spinning. i have NEVER had a problem with traction, even with all my mods i could still control the throttle and not spin in the rain. he was like "i think it needs new tires" and i was like , "no, the tires are next to new, its a fwd, meaning all the power goes to the front right tire, add the torque of a quick spooling little turbo, and if you go anything over 10% in 1st or 2nd it WILL spin". his previous car was a celica, so its obvious hes never driven anything with comparable torque and power. he said he had a 95 gst before but totaled it, and after seeing how he drives, i can believe it. sad story, i told him if i ever find this car is totaled, i will kick his ***.

his mod plans are simple bolt ons, downpipe, hard IC piping, greddy bov, boost controller. and to add, hes not doing any work. he says he has a shop do everything. he couldnt believe that i did everything myself, i told him no shop knows jack **** about dsm's and if they touch it, they will **** up. poor car. oh well, if i get the job at my moms work, ill be getting another 2g, prolly a stock *** gst just for DD. driving the gst stock to sac, used about a little under 1/8 of a tank, doing 85. pretty dam good.

yeah, kinda sorta. the gt still isnt as fast as the gst was, and its hard to get used to not having as much balls to the wall 3rd gear on the freeway. i think i should order some parts tonight.
