w00t. parents agreement = awesome car

so here's the deal. the money my folks are saving from having to pay for my college education because of my scholarships is turning out to be a good deal for me.

december of '07 halfway through my junior year in college, they are agreeing to buy me a new car for the rest of undergrad/graduate school

so...basically i have a few options i was looking at, new:

- shelby cobra gt500
- chevrolet corvette z06
- mitsubishi lancer evolution (either IX or X, whatever is domestic then)
- lexus of some kind
- possibly an AWD g35...if it's in the coupe by then

any other reccomendations?

Re: w00t. parents agreement = awesome car

sure

03/04 Cobra
95 Cobra
Saleen(any year is sickkkkk)
Always been partial to Late 80's-90's Maro's

Since your in Florida I wouldn't get a car with AWD since its just extra weight when you get going.

Have them book you on the next flight to the space station like the dude that went up there this week. You have a car already, now you could have the moon!!!!

new Z06? Those are gonna be around $80k

It will be the Evo X and if you haven't seen pics, look first. I think it's hideous.
The Shelby is nice.
Maybe an M3?
the AWD G35 coupe = skyline. Also around $80k They're saving the coupe awd for the skyline's release.
the new Lexus IS350 is pretty sweet.
New Supra will be out, but early estimates have it around $50-60k (might fall or raise depending on the engine used -- still undecided)

Just don't get your mind settled on one car now, it will change before 07. That's still a year and a half away and you don't know the budget yet, or inflation, or how much the cars will actually cost by then.
You also don't know the price of gas by then. If your parents are paying for your gas and all that, then that's good, but when you get out of school when , who will pay? Don't forget the price of insurance as well. Once you graduate and move off on your own, you can't be on mommy and daddy's insurance anymore. And you'll still be under 25 with a sports car. Just remember that a Bachelor's degree is not the same as it was 10yrs ago. Tons of people have Bachelor's now, so either excel or get a Master's, etc.
