sn195 coupe or vert

well i always liked the open-air feel of the vert but i like the lesser weight, more aero, sturdier built feel of the coupe.

hehe how do you decide given the look of the new '05?

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

the 05 was designed with a convertible in mind, so its barely less sturdy and barely heavier

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

05 verts actually weigh in about 100 lbs LESS than the coupes

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

really?

so....what about suspension options? im guessing the shocks/etc are the only difference in design?

panhard bars/etc i assume are usable from coupe to vert

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

If i were to get a vert i would want it to have a bad *** paint scheme and some sort of agressive body kit. to me a stock vert doesn't seem very masculine or sporty. i don't know why but that's how i've felt in the past. but in my area every teenage girl, mom, or secretary has one, so it kinda changes how one feels about that look.

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

so a body kit and paint give it a "manly" look?

a converti is homo no matter what. hell, i had a converti, and i felt homo with it. it was a ****ing fast converti(i feel sorry for those who lost to the homo convertible eclipse girly car convertible), but its still gay.

Where'd you hear this? all the articles I've read said about 100 lbs more.. which still is close to negligible..

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

Spring rates are probably a little stiffer, they probably weigh a little bit more do to more/heavier duty chassis stiffining items, but it isn't as bad as you might think it is.

All you would need to do to make your car rock solid is a good set of NON STOCK and NOT FROM STEEDA sub frame connectors. My car right now is very solid, and I haven't put SFC's on yet. The 05, as was stated, was designed to be a vert where as my 03 was a coupe with the top cut off. Reports are that the 05 verts are very smooth and feel very solid.

My opinion, get the vert. 0-100+ runs gain a new feel with the top down. Plus, you can go out on the town in a little more style like a homo would since you would be driving a homo car and we all know homos have a great sense of style. Then again, I guess I am probably biased since I have a vert and must also be a homo driving one.

Ok, so here, you can now have the best of both worlds. Your cake and eat it to, if you will....

Re: sn195 coupe or vert

CDC has an 05 with a similar design. it's awesome. It's called a glassback, haha.

I just think it may be annoying. I know in vehicles with a sunroof, it's always open, or the thing is closed over it so sun doesn't get in the car and annoy everybody.
