Well some of you may have noticed this week absence i have taken. It wasnt done intentionally. My computer decided to be an *** to me once again. While at work on monday my heatsink decided to fall off of the processor. So i got home and the coolant block was lying on the video card leaking my antifreeze/water mixture.
Well of course since it was running all day it fried the processor....AGAIN!!!! I just rebuilt the computer to.
So I hop on www.newegg.com
and get ready to drop some money again. Ordered a new mother board, processor and video card. I kept the MOBO and the processor the same. went kinda cheap there. my MOBO is only like 90 bucks and processor is about 110. Video card a decided to upgrade from my MSI NVidea Geforce 6800 128 mb vid card to a BFG Tech Nvidia Geforce 6800GT OC 256mb vid card. Let me tell ya, you can see the difference in the over clocked gt playing world of warcraft. That wasnt cheap though. but to get the one i had originally was only gonna be about 20-30 bucks cheaper.
Also I ditched the liquid cooled system. this is the second time it cause i fried processor. yes the first time was my fault, and the second was just some fluke...call it anger at the time or whatever, but it is gone. switched to a traditional fan and blades heatsink. the one that came with the processor. which by the way is a AMD Athlon XP 2800+ and the MOBO is a MSI K7N2 Delta2-FSR.
Along with this, i though since im spending the money to rebuild why not throw a couple better fans in. only stuck one in though. would have had to do some rewiring to get the other two in. While i was doing this i decided to "pimp my computer." The fans i ordered have green LED lights in them. Also I orded a green neon tube. Which is pretty cool, looks like one of those balls you see with the electricty running though them that you touch and the electricty goes to your hand. Other then that everything else is still the same. Hopefully this is the last time though i have to rebuild.
Ill post pics of the updated computer tomorrow. dont feel like loading them, feel more like going to bed right now.
