I'm back. FOREVER!!

Greetings, its been a while since i have posted on the boards (or any boards really) Anyways, just thought I would drop by and say hi! My car is still running great since the big RPM swap. I love it, but now Im working on getting some new projector headlight and a nice system! Then, I dont know if Ill go new 4.2 block with s/c or go with a 5.0 or even 4.6 swap... just dont know. Well, heck what do yall think I should lean towards?

Re: I'm back. FOREVER!!

welcome back! i vote 4.6 though if you are looking for power. possibly a 4.2 with blower if for show. i think a 4.2 and a blower is different and not very common. alot of people can respect that.

I wouldn't waste money on a system really, unless you are going for mostly show.

I love sounds and music too, and luckily I didn't spend that much on subs, because you grow out of that phase pretty quick.

I don't know what you mean "grow out of that phase." Subs make music sound so much better I will never go back. In fact I want a second one and a new amp, with some custom tweeters.

I'm just saying, don't drop $2000 in your subs, because I don't know a single person who spent close to that amount who still has them.

Re: I'm back. FOREVER!!

i just like having maybe 1 10" back there to add the bass hits... 2-3 10-12" subs isnt necessary in our cars for good sounding systems

welcome back man... havnt seen you in a while!!
i got a new car

ahh sweet man! I envy you, that car is bad! How long have you had it? Any times on it?

Whitestang99: i agree with you, I believe unless you are going all out for show then you dont need to spend anywhere near $2000 on any subs. All together my system including the headunit and door speakers will be under $1500.

I'm thinking of going with some Alpine type R subs, but should I go with 10s or 12s? What is the real sound difference? Seems like 10s can hit just as hard as 12s...

Re: I'm back. FOREVER!!

I prefer 10's over 12's. They seem to hit just as hardas 12's, but with better crispness, so it doesn't drone out in rock music.

Re: I'm back. FOREVER!!

I like my 12's, they tend to have a lower bass feel to them, a broader bass if you will. But...as far as systems, I'm more of a clear music person now. I just finished buying my last speakers for the system last night, and it's going to be a very crisp sounding system, I just need one more amp...

Re: I'm back. FOREVER!!

Hmm, I dont know what to do. I listen to mostly rock so, would 10's sound better over 12's?
Im looking for a very cost effient amp... either two mono's or a 2 channel, what would yall recommend there? I cant wait to get subs! That way I use use my type S alpine door speakers for mid range only....

Well for now just two type R alpine subs. I'll just run my door speakers of the headunit until... I can do otherwise...
