what does everyone think of this?

http://bodybuilding.com/store/nutra/cutting.html

give that a look. it's kind of lengthy, but interesting. i'm not sure if it's some type of scam or not... i'm interested becuz i've been working out and eating right for a month now and i'm actually gaining weight! i don't understand this, so if any of you do, post up in here... i'm seriously considering this, if it can be shown to be legitimate

The reason you are gaining weight is because muscle weighs more than fat. If you are just wanting to lose weight, working out is not the way to do it. I've been doing the same thing, week to week I might lose 5 pounds one week and gain them back the next week. It's just part of building muscles.

Correct.

If you want to lose weight, cardio is where its at. Anything that keeps your heart rate up for extended periods of time, running, joggin, stair stepper, and crap like that is what burns calories.

i went from 220lbs to about 165lbs in 4 months from playing Pump it Up and not eating nearly as much.

Re: what does everyone think of this?

I know it sounds dumb but....

In high school when I was wrestling I weighed 145 and I had to drop down to 125 for a meet that was like 2 weeks away. So I ate one decent sized meal a day(lunch) and in that meal no carbs AT ALL. Mostly I ate chicken, tomatoes\lettuce, jello, and a fruit. Then everyday afterschool I would find every piece of warm clothing in the locker room and jog the halls for about 3 miles. Then just go into practice and do what I was told. Usually pushups and drills. The entie time I was in the wrestling room the temp was no less than 90 degrees.

I lost the weight with 4 days to spare and my stamina went so far up I was able to go all out for almost the entire match(3, 2 minute periods) before I got winded.

Re: what does everyone think of this?

^ i believe it. i had a lot of wrestling friends in high school. they go through a lot of stuff to lose weight (and lose/gain it quite rapidly). its not healthy means though haha. your best bet is jogging if you want to lose weight. and also, yes, muscle weighs more than fat.. therefore throw your scale away. dont even worry about it. focus on appearance, not numbers.
