question... linking 2 computers...

my brother and I would like to link our two laptops together to play 2 player games... do we need a LAN box? Someone help? If we need to buy something, could I get a link, or name?

a twisted pair networking cable should do the trick. its about 20 dollars i think.

would it be better to get a LAN hub, and then be able to link multiple computers?.. those are $20 on eBay, but it said something about an Xbox on there too... or does that make a difference?

do you not already have a router?

if not, you can use a crossover cable between your two comps or buy a switch (a switch will just allow you to connect computers, you cant have internet through it without a router...and routers are also switches)

Go to Office Depot and buy a 4-port router/switch. They're cheap.

duct tape the computers to each other. That should work. But make sure they are taped like you would connect them in Battleship. Don't want your brother seeing what you're doing
