Like pluggin in my dad's camcorder into the device and the device into my PC setup.

Re: video capturing device

well it was always dumbed down cause we were posting the vids on the web and usually only had dial up, but i think the quality is pretty decent. It has been a while, so I don't really remember for sure.

Re: video capturing device

One of the best video capturing devices is a Video Card with VIVO (VIDEO IN Video Out). All my Videocards in my current computers are MSI cards with VIVO. MSI puts it on all there high end cards. My 6600GT and my 5950 Ultra have it. If you have microsoft XP and Vivo card it is nearly automatic.

Re: video capturing device

The only way your gonna get good quality of video is to use a firewire card. Go on newegg.com or something and do a search for them, some of them are cheaper then others, but I think $80 and up firewire cards are decent cards, that is as long as your camera has a firewire input so you can hook it up to your computer.

Re: video capturing device

i think that is why he wants a between unit...b/c he doesnt have a digital video camera..but if you do, def use firewire. If not, I have used dazzle for quite a few movies and it is about as good as you can get when you're not digital i think..the graphics card video in should be the same too i think.

Re: video capturing device

I'll probably have to use the Dazzle unit only because I think the camcorder doesn't have a firewire port.

Re: video capturing device

get the DVC150 at least.

the DVC 80/90/etc don't get nearly the quality.

i have the DVC80 and audio capture is iffy and picture quality is only up to 320x240.

now i use teh camera and firewire. or copy dvd files and convert them.
