Got a pretty good deal today

Went to evansville today to harbor frieght and picked up a cherry picker engine stand and air compressor for only 250 bucks. Well I thought it was a good deal anyway.

It is. However, be careful with the picker. Just recently, Louis (hottcobra) was using a HF picker to take a big block out of a car for someone and it rolled sideways on him, dropped the motor on the fender, and the legs kicked up and slammed him in the knee. He was by himself, so make sure when you pull the motor to have a spotter there just for sanity sake to help stabilize it with the motor up in the air.

Re: Got a pretty good deal today

Yup that did suck. What I found tone wrong with the picker is the tower that the ram bolts to is a poor fit and can move from side to side just enough to allow the weight to shift to one side. You can tell cause when you pick an engine up one of the rear casters doesn't have any weight on it.

If you have this problem. Just have a welding shop weld it upsolid for you. Should only cost you around $20.
