Xbox 360 or Ps3

i need help guys. up at school i dont have much communication with the world, so i dont know whats up with these two. which one is better, and if you could tell me why that would be great. and when does the ps3 come out?

i guess we can't tell since only xbox360 of the next gen consoles came out however from past experiences, my xbox was my favorite out of my ps2 and gc. however, im still not that hardcore of a fan. i think all systems have pros and cons... you really wont be disappointed in any system you get. id say wait for ps3 to come out and then get which one you think has better games.

I'm partial to the sony systems...but yeh, wait till the PS3 comes out and then make up your mind.

thats a trick question, I will pick secret option C being a computer gamming system becuase its better than all (ownt!)

they all have theri good/bad sides... cpu games are just more fun for me and you can do alot more with a cpu (for now)

There has been reports of Xbox360 crashing and many problems. Give it time before you buy one, because thre going to have recalls, repairs, and all kinds of refinements to make before its a solid console.

i dunno, i think xbox 360 has a lot of potential but we will see, i rented an xbox 360 this past weekend, pretty much stuck to madden 06, fun game but the graphics really didnt blow me away compared to that of a normal xbox

thats cause theyre not running pure 360 games, all the release games were slated to be normal xbox games but modified later to come out on the 360 with higher graphics. once we get real 360 games, itll all change. besides, the games out now, arent even touching its abilities, if you were to try to play those games on any pc, itd prolly crash, or youd need some huge expensive setup thats obsolete 4 months from now. pc gaming my ass.

PS3 will be a little bit better, but only cause theyre taking so dam long on it, and by the time ps3 comes out, 360 games will be on their second rounds, and already be running really nice graphics and using the system at least at half its capacity, while the ps3 will still be releasing ****ty launch titles.

i would buy the 360 now if you can, why wait another year or two, rumor has it PS3 coming in spring of 06, but i highely doubt that, you know sony and meeting deadlines.

I know the specs of the Xbox and trust me, its nothing spectacular compared to just a medicore gaming pc. I mean christ, all it has is a 128MB ati video card in it... There are 512MB nvidia cards out now that would kill that little scrawny thing.

Sorry, but you are not going to out do the Computer if you are a console. Consoles are turning more into computers however. PS3 will run linux

The PS3 has better hardware than the xbox period. Their chip out performs the IBM one in the XBOX.

I think the PS3 is probably gonna end up the better system. The main advantages the XBox had over the PS2 were slightly better graphics and a better online gaming set-up.

They may still have the advantage in online games this time too, but the PS3 is quite a bit more powerful system. The Cell can do 256 GFLOPS (compared to 115 for the XBox 360), which is equivalent to what the most powerful supercomputers in the world were doing back in 1996 (now they're up to 280 TFLOPS, the average PC is about 8 GFLOPS). The RSX (graphics processor) can do 1.8 TFLOPS, which is more powerful than two GeForce 6800 video cards combined. It also runs at 550 MHz, compared to around 430 for top of the line PC video cards (NVidia 7800GTX).

they'll still jack the price up. Demand will be high enough they will be able to get $400 for each console, and they would be stupid not to make an extra $100 of pure profit on each unit sold.

i havent really seen much of either the xbox360 or ps3... but i personally like ps2 more than xbox... so i think i would waste my money on the ps3

Actually, its estimated that the PS3 will cost 54,000 yen ($451 US) to manufacture at launch. After all, it does have some cutting-edge hardware.

Despite that, Sony is expected to sell the system for 44,800 yen ($374 US). This is all coming from Merrill Lynch Japan and is in the link I posted above. So Sony will actually be losing money on the consoles when they're first launched; the same was true for the PS2. As the hardware and manufacturing process becomes cheaper, they'll begin to make money off the consoles (unless of course, they drop the price).

Software licensing fees is where they really make their money.

the gamming consoles are getting better adn better no doube and there will soon be a thin line between then and PC's that are out, think of it is different levels of PC's perhaps....

I an play any game the Xbox had with out breaking a sweat lol, and it would look better on my cpu monior as well. I have a budget system on top of that.... its cheaper to buy an Xbox but... its just not the same as using a keybaord and a mouse (but at least you can get those i belive for em)

consoles always lose money until lots of people buy them and start buying more games. It costs more for MS to make the console than what theyre selling it for. Consoles have ALWAYS made the profit on the games.

lol were you typing with one hand again?:yank: there are so many typos in that post i found it hard to believe specV wrote it.

but seriously, i dont think i could use a keyboard/mouse for fps ever again. i like my trigger for shooting(plus triggers for accel and brake)and my twin mini-joystick combos for movement and strafing and looking/aiming, or up/downshifting in racing games.

and brent, i dont see PC's today running multi-core processors, even if the 360 only uses a 128bit card, thats all it needs, since it doesnt have to run hundreds of other useless **** in the background, plus a huge game up front.

and how bout all the rumors of sony making the games so they can only be read on the console they were first used on? meaning that you buy a game, bring it home, play it on your ps3, and once its played the first time, a code is broken, making it to where only YOUR ps3 can read that disk, so you cant bring that game to anyone elses house or burn a copy, etc.
