Re: Procrastination is the key to success

Don't think of it as procrastination. Think of it as exploiting your ability to work well under pressure.

I've got a final tomorrow, which I just started studying for today, and one Wed. I haven't started studying for yet. Cramming is where it's at.

**** studying

if you dont have it down by finals, 8 hours of reading isnt going to help you. besides, like most things nowadays, its mulitple choice, meaning, THE ANSWER IS ON THE PAGE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! it doesnt get much easier than that. if its math, you only have to go so far as to be able to tell the bogus ones apart, if youre a overachiever, you can do the whole problem, and if it matches one of the answers, then its a definite. youre looking at the guy who the air force asked what plane i wanted to fly solely based on my asvab(or whatever) test scores, until they saw my GPA and asked how i scored so high with grades so average, and i told them that multiple choice is borderline cheating and i only took the test cause i could get out of class and waste time filling in a few bubbles.

definitely. my tactic is somewhat know the material and then just wing it. trust your recognition skills. as long as you somewhat know the material, you're golden.

And yet some of you think a degree means something worthwhile.

Like I said in another thread it means squat and y'all have eloquently explained why that is so.

OK. I'm dropping out of school and opening an orthopaedic clinic.

I already know how to perfom acromioplasty surgery to fix some cases of impingement syndrome. I've done it. I can learn more as I go.

Haha...multiple choice tests are for the freshmen classes. Most of my finals were 4 or 5 questions that had to be answered in full paragraph form explaining everything. For my stats class we had to not only solve the problems, but explain every step we took on another sheet of paper the corresponds directly to the work sheet...yeh....multiple choice, that's that thing we did in high school.

Re: Procrastination is the key to success

I wish they were multiple choice, then I wouldn't have to study at all... Mine are more like (and SpectorV can confirm this) 15 discussion questions that take about 10-15 pages of writing to answer, depending on how small you write.

And since my degree is gonna be so worthless... why is it a near impossibility to get a job in the industry without one? Kind of hard to get EXPERIENCE when no one will hire you because you simply don't know the basic concepts required to do the job.

Sure, if I wanted to bust my *** the rest of my life, I could make good money without a degree. I've got a lot of friends who are union pipefitters that make some damn good money, especially for their age. I personally would rather go to school for an extra four years and spend the rest of my life sitting on my *** in front of a computer, eventually making more than them.

Guess it's just personal preference based on what you want to do with your life. But that piece of paper sure as hell isn't worthless to me.

Re: Procrastination is the key to success

all of mine are multiple choice... but yeah, the teacher can figure up answers to trick you... so you still have to know the material. I'm just happy there's a huge curve. The tests are specifically designed to be really hard... thus, big curves.

i had a test like that last semester.......it was an english exam. one question, it had to be answered and in paragraph form, we were graded on how well we answered the queston, how well our thoughts linked together, and then **** like punctuation, grammer, sentence structure, etc.

and in regards to studying, i have the same technique.........wait till the last minute some say i'm a procrastinator, some say i'm lazy..........i just say i'm patient

Re: Procrastination is the key to success

let's see...
Biology: Some multiple choice, but this sucks because there never is a "wrong" answer. More essays.
Chemistry: about 10% multiple choice, 90% short answer, essays, reactions, etc
Math: duh
Psychopathology: all essays
Labs: all short answer, reactions, essays, and lab reports (avg length 15 pages)
