Had a run with a 89GT Hatch

Was driving around my hometown sat night, never anything to do there. Just cruising, see a fox, so I decide to catch up and see what's going on. We pull up to a red light, and it's an old guy, so I'm like ok...guess no race. Then he revs for a second. Light turns green, we both take off. He has traction problems off the line and I get him out of the hole. He pull on me through part of 2nd then I catch 3rd and keep going. We pull off into a gas station. He made a comment about how I have a pretty quick car, and I said it's a v6 and he just shook his head lol. It ends up, he's a retired detective from the police department and built this fox up with his grandson after retiring. Has about 1500 in the engine, most of his money is in paint and stereo. Mainly built it for showing. I ended up hopping in with him and going for a ride, old dude could drive lol. If the car could ever get traction off the line it would be a hard race.
Cliff notes: raced a fox, cool guy, ended up riding with him.

Yeh, he was a real cool guy. When I got in, he said we're gonna go out of town, he's already met enough of the fellow officers in town lol. He's just spending his retirement building up cars and trucks. Has a K5 blazer he just bought that he's about to start working on.

I dunno, he got no traction at all off the line, and by the time he was catching back up we both shut down...didn't wanna speed too much in town.
